It is raining, again (I am in So.Cal.). I am getting cabin fever.

So I cleaned the bikes(again) and took some pictures.

Sheez man ... you should open up a shop!

Carbonfiberboy 02-18-17 05:08 PM

BBC has good coverage of conditions down there! Pretty scary. 9 billion gallons of rain in the next few days?

An hour of threshold ladders on the resistance rollers is a pretty good cure for boredom. I wimped out on an 84 mile ride in steady rain and the low 40s today. Did my apprenticeship in that long ago. So the ladders will be my consolation prize this afternoon.

Ride in the rain!!!

My thoughts exactly. My friends in San Diego usually gloat about the weather. A few rain drops and temps below 50 and they are miserable. No sympathy here.

Cyclist0108 02-18-17 06:29 PM

Pffft. It is just a little rain.

If you are not this person's friend and just yanking his chain a little, this would be a not so socially appropriate behavior.

Many used to read actual hard copy books before Al Gore invented the internet.

Oops... hurt feelings. Sorry, but this is my standard response when somebody says they are bored.
Rained 2 day...BFD

No hurt feelings, just think it was a waste, and not so nice. I could not care less about norms and just providing an opinion.

I normally do, I love to ride in the rain.

But after my recent subdural hematoma scare, the doctor wants me to avoid, at least for a while, riding in risky situations, such as riding in the rain, where the risk of falling is greater. :(

I am reading a very thought provoking book: SAPIENS A Brief History of Mankind. It's the Kindle version, however. Does it still count as a book? :innocent:

Now, that is a really good reason for caution!

Good luck with your healing!

I just finished Are You My Mother?, a fascinating graphic memoir. Text and graphics by the author, Alison Bechdel. I find I like graphic books more than I expected, having just finished March by John Lewis. Thus I bought Sandman by Neil Gaimon, mostly because he's the husband of an acquaintance whom I much admire. But the Gaimon is a more trad comic kind of thing and I don't see what the big deal is, was, whatever. Eh. I loved the Marvel art when I was a kid but I guess not so much now.

If you want a toothier sort of thing, there's always Piketty's Capital in the Twenty-First Century.

Cabin fever in SoCal, now thats funny. Just talked to my Aunt in Seattle, most rain she can remember in a quite a spell. So far in Feb. I'm in NorCal and appreciate a little change of seasons. If you do decide to ride in rain, gear-up with your riding garb and winter season treads make sense. Of course ride accordingly to the conditions that present themselves. Nice bikes BTW

We, Seattle, were at about three times the average about 10 days into the month... Crazy month!

It melted enough that the roads are clear and I've started riding again!

Well, my current signature just repeats that but it was worth 2X.

No being bored here,I like not having to contend with Dick and Jane Wolfpackmotorist every morning, now if I want to get an adrenaline rush in the morning, I'll just pour an extra cup of my special coffee brew.
