Tough March

It has been a bad month of March for outdoor riding for me. With days in the 20's and 30's, or rain it hasn't been a great millage month outside for me. When the temps are in the 30's or lower I can only do short rides outside because of my asthma. With the roads being wet dirty and salty on top of that I was on the single speed most of the time. So todays temps hit 45, YAHOO ! I can go for a longer ride on the road bike.

I ran more than I rode!! Not what I was hoping for....getting snow tonight, so looks like I'll be running for another week.

I am waiting for the weather we had in February to return. Here in Central Illinois March was rain, cold, and wind but being a runner first I have been able to average 40 mile weeks running no real cycling days to cut into that.

The bigger thing I got my new Habareno Ti yesterday and I need to get in the maiden voyage and get a report out. Pics in the Road Forum.

Most of my mileage in March was on my resistance rollers. The bike and I stayed clean and dry. It rained double the normal here in March. I went on a long wet road ride once a week, though. I just can't ride rollers 3-4 hours continuously. Some people can but not I.

Although I have no video, I dislocated my shoulder skiing in France in mid-March. A bummer of a month for cycling...

Yep! Worst March mileage for me since 2012. :(

Above average rainfall in this town.

Way above average temps here (GA) this whole year so I'm about 1,000 miles ahead of my last year's totals so far.

ZIPP2001 03-31-17 03:29 PM

I'm already 600 miles behind last year, hoping for a much warmer April.

Yep. Sigh. February was good. Nice day expected tomorrow though.

Plus I commute mostly trails, which have been inundated with water so only one commute so far (in February!).

Well... I put 900 miles on my CX bike since Thanksgivings. Not bad for my first winter of riding. I hope to get the road bike out as soon as road conditions allow.
