Welcomish...

Given you will be starting your 51st year on Earth in 4 weeks, I say yes.

BlazingPedals 04-18-17 06:12 AM

Durned kids!

John E 04-18-17 06:34 AM

There goes the neighborhood. :)

Welcome to 50+!

rumrunn6 04-18-17 07:21 AM

you ready? but are you? man, that was one dark day for me

Piratebike 04-18-17 07:35 AM

While getting old sucks, it certainly beats the alternative. After a heart attack at 48, I am happy to see every new trip around the sun.

:thumb: for you and welcome, Chris.

BassNotBass 04-18-17 09:18 AM

Congrats! You're halfway there!

leob1 04-18-17 09:56 AM

Go for a ride, and come back when your old enough.

BKE 04-18-17 10:08 AM

NO, close but not quite yet.

IMO it is (was) a very special day, savor it and then come back.

Flip Flop Rider 04-18-17 10:12 AM

ride 50 miles that day

The initiation is a colonoscopy (at least it should be). Welcome to "50+ medical issues"!

Halfway to where? From here, or there? And if there, how can "there" be halfway to "there?"

And anyway, where's the pie???

64 in 4 days. I was just talking with someone about orbiting the earth backwards, so you cross the International dateline west to east. With a low, say 8 hour orbit, yo could lose 2 days/24 hours. 14 years would take me just seven years! (I need a lower orbit! Maybe just clearing Mt Everest.)

A mere child still! I wish I could remember that far back (76).

Welcome!

That means you are still 49, now get off the lawn, come back in 4 weeks and 1 day. Then you can look behind the curtain of the Great and Powerful OZ!

My oldest son is right behind you. He'll be 50 in less than a year.

Hang around and enjoy yourself. Make sure you bring pie for everyone. ;)

Stay young at heart. I'm 52 and I don't understand why some of my peers (say +/- 5 years) act so old already. I mean, I still play xBox with my teenaged son, listen to Led Zeppelin loudly, and still participate in the company sports team with predominantly Millenials as my teammates.

OldsCOOL 04-18-17 04:17 PM

Pfffft

Hmmmph ... a mere kid. What a difference 13 years makes: Frank/the Mothers, Who, Cream (and Blind Faith), Janis, Jimi et al. for me, along with Led. Saw 'em all live bitd, still listen to 'em loud*, along with the best of the later stuff. Pretty sure I appear ridiculous to peers/co-workers, but who cares?

*Well, according to others -- hearing at 65 not as acute as it was.

Moe Zhoost 04-18-17 05:35 PM

Congrats Chris!

In what seems to be about a month and a half, you'll be eligible for medicare!

Keep riding - it truly will keep your body young. I feel much fitter now than I did 15 years ago when I was your age.

JanMM 04-19-17 12:10 PM

What was the question?
How did I get here and who are you all?
The answer is "bicycling".

Think back to when you were four weeks from being 21. How did that work for you then?
