The Coed on the Bike...

1. From what I saw, the wives stay wives for life. I'm not sure what happens to the mistresses after their "sell by" date. I never met a mistress who appeared to be 35 or older.
2. Does anyone ride bikes there? Yes. Aruba has a national cycling team. The weather is almost always 80*, day or night, year round. It doesn't rain much. But . . . it is always extremely windy, there are no hills (or even overpasses), and the native foliage drops large thorns -- often onto the road surfaces.

Hate to disappoint you guys but I never check out a person's bike when they ride by, being totally indifferent to it. I probably would pay attention to the attractive woman however.

I would also like to add descriptions of my commutes. I have two modes.
In New York City, people take dress pretty seriously, so some people are really well dressed.
Sometimes I take the subway, and people are in street clothes. I look at people and say wow. Some of the young people are so good looking, I'm tempted to say it should be illegal. And they don't even know the aura they are putting out.
Other times, I ride my bike. It's a 14 mile trip each way, and nine miles are on the Hudson River Greenway. Many people use it as a commuting route, and many use it for exercise. People are well dressed there, either in work clothes or in workout clothes. They are stylish and form fitting. I get to see a person from the front or the back but not both. A rear view mirror doesn't help me admire people. But I have a nice time seeing what I see.
I live in Greenwich Village which has for a long time been a big place for gay (LGBTQ) people. I'm often mistaken for gay, and men often check me out. Lucky for me I'm oblivious to the signals of flirtation.

Thanks, @Tom, but I wear Planet Bike gloves, readily available in Boston (they have Velcro closures ).
In Hawaii, I rarely see women on bikes where I ride (to notice how "shapely" they are while supposedly "looking at the bike") but the "normal" dress code is pretty brief. By virtue of being on the retired list, I often am riding when the local high schools let out. I can't believe what the kids wear. In my day, it would be hard to pay attention to what a teacher was saying with that in my line of sight.

I was having lunch in a bike trail park/rest area a couple weeks ago, and 2 of these female "co-eds" stopped to look at the maps on the billboard. They were enjoying putting on a little show for me, and I was trying not to stare, lol, when one of them lost her balance & fell over. She wasn't hurt, other than her pride, but her embarrasment was pretty extreme. It took me a few minutes to actually process it all, after they left, it was so strange. 😉

No, you got me wrong. No one hits on me. Or if they do, I don't notice. Flirting is fine, as long as everyone knows it's not serious. I don't take a chance at it, though.
The only flirtation I get is when I walk my dog in the city. She's an old greyhound with a striking appearance and demeanor. Young couples go on dates in my neighborhood, as we have lots of restaurants and shops which attract tourists. Typically, the woman approach me asking to greet the dog, and they fawn over my dog. I think they're really hoping to see how their boyfriends react, to see how much nurturing they have in their natures. I see it as some kind of mating ritual, and I'm happy to play a part in it, especially because I'm not going to win or lose. The couples are often at least a little drunk, though it's more visible with the women. My dog stands perfectly still and doesn't look at people when they pet her, and people take this to be sweetness, which intensifies the fawning.
When high school or college women -- or men! -- get embarrassed in front of me, I realize whatever pain they're going through is worse than any of mine, so I can relax. If it helps to pretend not to notice them, I do that. The City is a very crowded place and even more so than before. We are all practiced at pretending not to see each other, so the dog greeting thing is a sharp exception to the usual behavior.

@Jim from Boston, there is a bike shop in Yonkers, near where I work, that has a large stock of gloves from 30 or 40 years ago with the crocheted back. I'm jes' sayin'.

Yeah let's do that. @greg3rd48 told me about it. It's another old Jamaican guy who knows Larry, the guy who owns Larry's Freewheeling in Manhattan. He had a ~1980 Peugeot UO-18 he just wanted out of the shop, so he gave it to Greg who gave it to me, and I'm going to fix it up for my daughter's friend.

Maybe it's just that typecasting thing, like on Seinfeld. Some folks figure if you're tall, thin, & neat, you "must" be gay, lol. 🙄😁 Or at least safer to take a chance on. In your avatar, you don't look overly thin, so folks are probably less likely to chance a potential confrontation.

Strange coincidence ... Believe it or not, riding home from work yesterday, there were few beautiful women ... also dressed as showgirls. I have no idea what they were doing ... a photoshoot?
My daughter and I just passed on by ... I missed a golden opportunity.

Well there is a college here in town (Roger Williams) so I suppose I get to see lots of coeds in the course of a ride so not much need to comment on that. But today, on the bike path, I did see three men cyclists and one was wearing a tutu. I was about to ask him if had lost a bet or something but then I thought it best to be safe rather than sorry and kept my mouth shut.

Ten years ago or so my wife and I took the grandkids to the library. I wanted to make sure my grandson knew how to find a book. He said he wanted a book on hotrods. So we looked it up on thecomputer, wrote down the Dewey number, navigated the stacks, found the book and checked it out at the self-check. I asked if he had any questions and he said, "Why do you keep calling the computer the 'card catalog'?"
I guess that's like my grandmother telling me to fetch the milk out of the 'ice box'.
On the other hand, I think you all knew what I meant by 'coed'.

Yeah, and I think this thread is in grave danger of degrading into a creepy laundry list of our Playboy Forum fantasy stories. Admit it...at least SOME of you are getting a little horny sharing and reading these posts, right? I'd like to suggest that we squash it right now, before we make one of the "coeds" who enjoy this forum too uncomfortable to ever come back. Just sayin'.
