Going to Ante-up the miles for my birthday ride

If all goes well, July 8th is my designated birthday ride day. It will actually be 2 days before my birthday because I like early Saturday morning riding better than any other day's traffic. In the past I have doubled my age for the ride but this year I am one-upping my goal to a triple. Since the SW FL weather has been fairly warm and humid lately I am thinking about beginning the ride 2 hours earlier at 10PM on the 7th. This should allow for 8 hours of segment one riding, a quick shower upon returning home with a clean and dry kit change then out again to join the LBS Saturday group ride plus the additional miles so it will total out to 201 miles.

Yesterday was an easy 152 miles and next Saturday I figure on 175 miles. Time will tell.

Maybe, perhaps he will be 67 and it's three times his age?

OTG, this is awesome! I'm a young guy (only 65), but there is no possible way that I'm going to do a 198 mile ride on my next birthday. Good luck, I hope it all goes well.

Sweet! I am 61. Next year just after my birthday, my (now) 9 year old has already set a family goal of a metric century at the Jalapeno 100 - which he notes will match my age in miles. I need to retire so I can train more.

COME ON YOU YOUNG GUYS, the body is the age it is, the mind is the age you make it.

I hear you. When I grow up I hope to be just like you. Biggest challenge for me is time. We adopted (right after we emptied our nest - not planned, but a necessity) and I really have come to appreciate how much parenting is a younger man's game. One thing that helps is that he loves to ride.
