Tour of Crete Supported Tour May 2019
For those of you who enjoy supported week long bike tours this one looks really interesting. One of my buddies rode it last year and loved it and plans to go back this year. He rode in the Competitive Division but they only timed certain climbs. He stopped and took pictures in the untimed segments. Plus there is the challenge division where you’re not timed. It’s a decent value, smallish group (approximately 100 riders), well supported, great scenery and spouse friendly.
I’m leaning on attending if I think that I can get my hip in good enough shape to do the climbing and miles by then. I showed it to my wife and she would like to tag along. We’d probably add some time for additional sightseeing.
Who else might like to do a ride like this?

Oy, I would love to do that. Reasonably inexpensive too.
If only I could talk my SO into it.

This looks absolutely perfect for you. I thought of you when I read about it. It would be fun to meet and ride with other cyclists from other countries.
My wife is okay with it. Right now I’m sitting on the fence just not knowing what my capabilities will be once I’m back riding outdoors. I think I’d be okay but I’m just not sure about riding multi days until I can get some miles on this new hip. I’d already have signed up if i wasn’t in recovery mode.

At 1400 or so Euros (~$1500) that is quite a deal. Airfare can be reasonable too, from LAX 900-1200 and from SFO 1700 or so. Another option is Kefalonia in Greece, nice Island with what looks to be some great cycling and trips are just a bit cheaper starting at 850 Euros. https://www.cyclingkefalonia.com/booking-and-prices.
