It should! Even in the military I hated to run and never ran more than 5 miles if I could avoid it. I entered a few short event/charity runs and hated every one of 'em. When I left the military and quit amateur boxing I never ran again, unless jogging across the street to avoid being hit by a car counts.

I don't mind long walks. After my shoulder injury last year I mostly walked 1-5 miles a day for months, including some fast walking -- although I never got the hang of the competitive rolling gait of speed walkers.

Gimme my bike, anytime.

Started riding seriously (my old aluminum Jamis Commuter) 6-1/2 months ago. Went to a CF road bike three months ago. Just had my first 80+ mile week! I'm 73 years old and getting younger by the day. Oh, and I've lost a tick over 20 pounds.

Racing, to me, is riding for the fun of it.

At 71 I did my 6.5 mi. TT at 17.7 mph. At 72 (last June) I did it at 19.4 mph. Who knows whether I will be faster or slower at 73. FWIW, this TT has approx. 300 ft. of elevation.

I knocked 4 minutes off my GMR Hill Climb time trial race that is run on part of the climb up Mount Baldy east of LA and set a new 1 minute power record at the track.

I am pretty consistent with few exceptions, usually around 16 mph average over the first 20 miles or so and then inch along at about 14-15. My Strava is pretty boring but the rides are spectacular! Joe joesvintageroadbikes.wordpress

Yes! But not a cycling PR. I've got it in the back of my mind to run a half, but I'm putting it off training for shorter distances.

My only PR's from last year were on segments that I haven't hammered and just happened to be faster that day.
