70 plus year old rider = 100,000 miles
Just thought I would share this with the 50 + group. There is a recreation trail near me that is rated one of the highest trails in the area. It runs nearly 34 miles. There is a guy that rides the trail round trip (around 68 miles) 3 to 5 days a week. I believe I was told he is in his 70's. This past may he went past 97,000 miles. He is projected to get 100,000 miles in August. Here is the link to the article

I regularly ride with a member of the 300,000 mile club (all these miles have to be verified) but he must be well in excess of that total by now. The man is 87 and has just bought a new hybrid.

At 54, I can speak for most of you when I say I hope I am doing what he is when I'm his age!!
These old railroad bed trails are really cool. There are two in Central Florida, one near Ocala, the other near Gaineslille. I recently did the Ocala one and found it to be really super. Not cluttered with riders and, being an old railroad bed, it passed through small towns along the way.
They call these "Linear Parks" and are maintained by various park systems. I wish we had one in the Fort Lauderdale area. If we did however, it would probably be too crowded.

100,000 thats about 4 times around the earth
it's time for a 100,000mile checkup, brakes, timing, gear, compression, etc
