New Year's Eve, 2019 Ride
The last ride of 2019 was a 20 miler to Washington's Crossing and back. Total for the year: 4635 miles. Longest rides were about 72 miles. Shortest: 1.2 miles, my comment on that one was "Too windy, aborted." When I don't have time for a longer ride, I ride around the neighborhood for 5-10 miles. For these short rides, I generally don't bother recording with the GPS unit, but just log the mileage given by the cycle computer. For longer rides, I use the GPS and log mileage, feet of climb, and moving time. There were 117 short rides with a total of 806 miles. There were 167 rides with "full recording:" 3829 miles, 173,500 feet of climb, and 393 hours ride time; an average of just under 10 mph. Old and slow!
Happy New Year,
Ed

I finished the year with a ride for the last 8 days, not quite 200 miles. Really a great week of weather. I did not keep track of mileage for the year, but would estimate somewhere in the low 4000 area for the year. My biggest accomplishment and gain in regards to bicycles was in the mechanical aspect. I did a lot of work on bikes this past year. That includes my first complete tear down and rebuild of a bike. I have learned a lot, had a lot of help, and became much more confident in my doing the work on my bikes. I have a frame, 2001 Lemond Tourmalet, that I am waiting on coming back from the powder coater. I have all the necessary components to do the build when I get it. A good start on 2020.

Last ride of the year for me was Fri 12/27 - about 21 miles, much of it off road. Weather was mild but the trails were kind of soggy and muddy especially in the Mercer Meadows Rosedale Lake area.
About 2300 miles in 102 rides for 2019.
