Bought a bike stand. The thing is so convenient that is now where I store my bike. For years I would just lean them on a garage wall (actually wore through the edge of saddle and bar tape). The backup ones hang from roof trusses.

I strategically (carefully) lean them against a table saw & tile saw. While not the greatest security, it does allow me to run an abus chains through the base and bikes. I also have a couple other bikes and wheelsets hanging from the rafters and locked so someone just can’t walk away with them without using my power tools to cut the locks off... lol!
It is really just to slow someone down and not just grab a bike and ride away.

My bikes are in bike racks in the garage. My lawn tractor and two lawn mowers get to sit outside in the rain.

I have four bikes in my man cave. Also various hand planes on my coffee table next to the Lay z boy. I just like seeing my bikes and grabbing the handlebars and thinking about riding around PNW islands in the fall and I also love picking up a plane and thinking about the ephemeral heat of really thin wood shavings on the back of my wrist on a cool day. Unless the wife is really mad at me about something my privacy is respected down there. What I like seem to be objects that are muscle powered.

my bikes are all inside the house, not enough room in the garage to store them. Some are in an extra bedroom and the rest are in the basement.

My $12,000 bike hangs by a $2 hook.
I have a small 1 car garage so floor space is tight

Now, for me, the old car is the one thing the bikes don't lean against - even with the cover on.

I love looking into people's garages and seeing how people store their Bikes. We have a lot of Bike Riders in the area I ride in,
I constantly look into open garages and see nice Bikes either propped up by their Kickstand ready to topple over, hanging by a tire from a hook in the garage, or leaning against the lawnmower..
I don't want to exaggerate because I also see some really elaborate storage methods. Its 50/50
Well this is mine. Its not pretty or inventive but it works.
I don't like to waste money or spend needlessly so I had some wood and conduit lying around and made this.
Later I put it on casters . Turns out it also makes a good Service Stand.\
Now lets see your Method!
(PS I don't like kickstands. They aren't reliable and they add weight.)

Bike storage was a headache for me -Ihere isn't room in the garage it's a very old 1 car deal that fits 1 small car and my yard equipment, but not much else. I don't know what I would do if I bought an SUV - probably park it in the driveway. My basement has low ceilings and essentially no free wall space. And I kept buying bikes, some of which cost well north of $2k. Leaning against walls and benches stopped being practical. So I bought a bunch of these. They work great.

My three bikes were purchased for less than $1500 for all three. Two live in my office, one in my bedroom.

I have a handful, including kids' bikes etc. So I did this. Always makes me warm and fuzzy remembering riding my bike to school:

LOL, well if you add all the accessories added and the bikes themselves, then we are just at that $2000 number? Alas no garage so our bike area is at the end of our front room in our 2nd. floor one bedroom apartment!
