I love looking into people's garages and seeing how people store their Bikes. We have a lot of Bike Riders in the area I ride in,
I constantly look into open garages and see nice Bikes either propped up by their Kickstand ready to topple over, hanging by a tire from a hook in the garage, or leaning against the lawnmower..
I don't want to exaggerate because I also see some really elaborate storage methods. Its 50/50
Well this is mine. Its not pretty or inventive but it works.
I don't like to waste money or spend needlessly so I had some wood and conduit lying around and made this.
Later I put it on casters . Turns out it also makes a good Service Stand.\

Now lets see your Method!

(PS I don't like kickstands. They aren't reliable and they add weight.)

I lean my bike up against some shelves ready to go. When the time comes out of the garage I go since I ride from the garage it works out good.

Most bikes are hanging from hooks, the rest are leaning against whatever happens to be most convenient. Value doesn't really play a role as much as expedience.

All of our bikes are on hangers on the wall of the garage, except the one that’s on the trainer more or less permanently.

Yup. Four of mine are in the third bedroom of the house. It's just me in a three-bedroom house, so makes sense. The time trial bike is in the closet with the jerseys. The other three are leaning up against a wall.

However, to be totally honest, other than the time trial bike, the other three are e-bikes and I don't want to leave them in the garage during a North Idaho winter, (e-MTB, e-road, and e-gravel). In the garage are my seven other bikes, all analog, (fat bike, endurance road bike, kick bike, folder, MTB hardtail, '72 classic steel bike, and the "reference bike"). The "reference bike" is one that was used for a pro body fit and nobody touches that bike because all other bikes are set up to match the geometry of that one.

I have a road bike and a gravel/touring bike, whichever bike is my "active" bike has a spot it leans on, using the "pedal on the curb" kind of approach. The "inactive" bike and the family bikes are on wall hangers.

I have two kayaks on rope hoists in the garage, too!

My CAAD 12 has a similar spot against a fireplace in an adjoining room. There are 5 more hanging from hooks in the garage.

Nothing beats hanging from the garage rafters using ... bicycle storage hooks.

Pegboard and high shelves along one wall, big toolbox and floor-to-ceiling shelves along the other, workbench and pegboard across the back. Both cars park in the garage, along with 6 bicycles.

Mine hang from the garage rafters above the hood of my wife's convertible. That way we both get to have our toys in the garage.

Oh, and $2,000 for a bike? You've got to be kidding. I'm guessing that my most valuable bike is probably worth about $1,500.

my most expensive bike is about 1600 it was 1200 but I got some better wheels. I buy Motobecanes then modify them and they have been great.

New bikes are cool and technology has marched on by and large for the better. That said, I like to fix up old bikes and ride them. My last two bikes are a 1979 Trek 510 (low temp silver brazed, complete Ishiwata 022 tubing) that I paid $150 for and a 1992 Stumpjumper (prestige main triangle) that I bought for $125. I'd have no issues leaning them against my lawnmower but it's an old school push mower that isn't all that bulky so I'd better not,

A couple hang from the ceiling and a couple lean on the workbench/motorcycle/whatever is semi-stationary in the climate controlled garage. I need a bigger garage.

Having a carport, rather than a garage, and not having a basement, my primary bike and my wife's trike take up permanent residence in the van we bought to haul them around. My hybrid, which I seldom ride anymore, stays in the shed and my other road bike is at a friends house in his garage. I do have room in the spare bedroom for my other road bike but the wife won't let me keep it inside on a permanent basis.

The cheap bikes, in the $2k price range? They get treated to the same consideration as the nice bikes get in my garage. No nails, no lawnmowerleaning.

My 6 and my wife's 1 bike(s) hang from 3" coated hooks on rafters in the basement. Done this for 20 years, no issues.

Most I've spent on any of these is $400. But they do hang up and out of the way.

This is my Topstone, closest to the $2,000.00 mark, in a stand I made and the Hybrid has a kickstand. Have a lot of room in our garage so no issues.
