My new ride

today was the 1st miles on a bike in several years, it felt good to be back on the bike. Found out today. I need a lot of base miles to get back to where I was 5 years ago.

I have NEVER regretted going on a ride;
I have often regretted not going when I could have!

I am grateful for the headwind that challenged me today!
I am grateful for the tailwind that helped me go fast!

As long as you enjoy what you are doing, then that's really all that matters.

Gains do take time. Sometimes a change in how you go about achieving them. But regardless it's your enjoyment that counts more.

I have to force myself to go on many rides. But like you said...
I have NEVER regretted going on a ride;
I have often regretted not going when I could have!

I started back in May after 6 years off. I'm still doing a lot of 3-6 mile rides but I'm outside,on a bike and that's good

Advice from someone who was off the bike for 15 years...Be consistent, and ride at least 3x per week. At least 1x per month, do a ride that pushes your endurance capacity.

Doing the Eric F training program you'll quickly find yourself on the elbow of the improvement curve. I remember (because it wasn't long ago) wondering if I could ever ride 20 miles. It took me about 3 months to get past the "that 7 miles nearly killed me'' to regular 20 and 30 mile rides.
