I didn't have very good luck with melatonin . I tried Sleepytime tea and it does work for me.

I have never heard of this. I had been seeing a nose specialist for years. I had surgery on both sides of noise. It worked for about a month or two tops then it all came back. :/
I will have to give a it try. So only before bed? Any reason you could not do it before a ride? Currently I use the water nasal flush before going on a ride. I found those nasal strips do help me sleep better at night. Vinegar before your ride? I don't know. Try it. Might take some getting use to if you don't like vinegar and oil salad dressings. I use to use the nasal strips for sleeping too. But they never helped the snoring. I was 20 - 25 pounds heavier back then. As I lost that weight for good, things got better in the snoring department and my wife quit poking me all night long so I eventually quit the bedtime routine of vinegar and water before bed time. |

I was doing this just after the state decided that pseudoephedrine was was bad because it could be made into meth. So about 12 - 15 years ago IIRC. Pseudoephedrine was about the only OTC decongestant that worked well for me. So desperate for something I looked at some of the homeopathic sites and saw some saying that drinking organic apple cider vinegar helped them with sinus inflammation and that it seemed to thin the mucous. So I gave it a try and it seemed to help. Of course organic apple cider vinegar was claimed to cure everything if you look around at various sites. So even my result might be more placebo. And certainly circumstantial and anecdotal at best. Whether it was placebo or not, it didn't seem to matter what type vinegar I used. It seemed to keep the thick snot from collecting in my throat and causing me to snore.

Don’t sleep as well on rest days. Figure my body is just not tired enough.

Thread’s old but rest-day insomnia is a recurring nightmare for anyone over 50. High-street CBD is useless filler that gums up the system. I wasted months testing different routines and found that smoking weed on a fast was the quickest way to wreck my REM cycles. Total chaos.
Switched to a private clinic like Releaf for a proper medical prescription. It's the only way to get a regulated dosage that shuts the brain down when the legs aren't burned out from a 60-miler. Stop buying retail junk and get a professional solution if you want consistent sleep. |

A Book I would like to suggest to all.
The Promise of Sleep by William C. Dement, Md, Phd Dr. Dement was a pioneer in sleep science. I was fascinated by the book, with all of the ground that it covered. Check your local library, mine has it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_C._Dement# fat biker
