My dad is 90, He has a cousin who’s 76 and they look just alike. I looked in the mirror the other day and saw the cousin looking back at me! (LOL)

Here's a Substack posting that describes how us older folks ought to be training our bodies for avoiding falls as we age. It's not about maintaining strength as much as it is maintaining our capacity to react to things that might result in a fall as we go about our daily activities.

Thanks for that. Useful, and it says what I'm doing is mostly right. I'll do the chair test, and I suspect I will do well at it. I need to increase my stairs climbing speed and to do squats. I'm still good at climbing stairs. Yesterday, I climbed 28 flights, and I always climb two steps at a time.

There is more work to do. I can't get up from the floor without using my arms or knees, and I want to regain that ability.

Speaking of falling, I practice falling every year. Maybe I should do it more frequently. I do a "stage fall" from ankles to knee to hip to elbow to shoulder. I do it from standing, onto a soft ground. I find that doing this helps prepare me for when I fall off my bike. It works well.
