Off road riding near Columbia, SC

I am going to be buying a new bike after the weather breaks, and wondered if there were any off road older types around Columbia, SC that would be interested in forming a regular monthly ride for only those who are over a certain age.

Let me know.

Don't limit the age group too high. It would be better to state a certain ability level, and then you will finish up with a group that can ride together. I know with our group, we start off with a 30 year old, that only rides occasionally due to work commitments, and finish with me at 58. In the middle there is a fit rider, and I must admit that if he is not on the ride, then I enjoy it more. Then there is another fit rider, very fit rider, that everyone enjoys riding with. He does disappear into the distance, but is also prepared to drop back to the slow rider and help them up the hill. Then there are the occasional newcomer to the sport-- 20 year olds, that learn a lot with us before moving onto other things like career and Girlfriends.

Check the local bike shops or the ride pages for groups that go out
to Harbison State Forest. I know that some folks from Summit go out at
least one evening per week, but my impression is that that group is pretty
fast. I assume you know that there is a group road ride almost every night
of the week sponsored by one of the bike shops. If I am there I am in.......
