Lucky's Maiden Voyage

Well I brought Lucky home today on my lunch hour, and only had time for a quick 5 mile ride. But she's so much fun! She's whisper quiet, light (about 23-4 pounds), nimble, and responsive.

I sit higher (from the street) than my MTB. I'm not in love with the sidepull brakes, and who knows -- may change those out later. But the LBS even found some red cable to nearly match my frame, as do the red Armadillos. The gearing is 17-43.

For a beater bike, she can't be, well, um, beat! And I have a feeling I'll take her out on some longer rides as well. I'm quite pleased!

Here's a quick thumbnail, because I can't figure out how to put a picture into the post itself. Not the best picture, but I was in a hurry!

Congrats Gary, it certainly is a clean looking bike. For your intended purpose it looks like just the thing!

Great!

Looking forward to more ride reports.

(You need to have a picture posted somewhere on the web in order to post it in the middle of your post)

Gary....as my 19 year old would say..... very sweet for bombing around town, swerving in traffic...ever see "Quicksilver" with Kevin Bacon?

Without mounting bosses on forks and seatstays, you may be "stuck" with sidepulls. But they're easy to come to love for street use. One of those lover's slight imperfections that you come to cherish.

More pics and a ride report--with or without pie.

Very nice!! You will have tons of fun with this one! Love the color scheme as well!!

Looking real good. 43-17 should cover a lot of terrain. The side-pulls will grow on you in time. Handlebars look like they make a comfortable, upright ride.

Single-speeds are hot right now . . . lock that baby up tight when needed, or she'll have a new owner real quick.

Are they Michelin tires?

That "beater" bike looks so good that you may have to get another one just to serve as your true beater.

Does it have a decal saying what kind of steel it is?

By the way, I looovvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeee steeeeeeeellllll.

Gary, Congratulations. You will enjoy the bike. You will really grow to love the side pulls. Bob
