A sure way to win the LOTTO

49 is being a tough age for me. Last year I rode 5000 miles then just before thanksgiving I was feeling a bit rundown and noticed some ugly things coming out when I urinate. I went to the doctor who said I had a urinary infection and put me on antibiotics.
Fast forwarding to yesterday I have been on 3 rounds of antibiotics and my weight has shot up 40lbs, urine no better, have had a dull stomach ache for a month.
I saw a Urologist yesterday who ruled out the uusal ailments and has put me on the short list for lots of Blood work and a CTscan on Tuesday. he told me not to jump to any conclusions but quite frankly I am scared to sheot.

I was driving home from the Urologist and stopped at a store for water and noticed that tonights NY LOTTO drawing is 31 millon. I bought 4 tickets . I figure if the results from the CTscan are going to be bad. I will be certain to finally win the lotto!

. . . or you won't win as usual, and the results of the CT Scan will be something that the docs can handle, and then you will be able to feel all guilty about those 40 lbs you put on.

Stay positive - we'll be thinking about you.

Are you still riding?

Good luck big guy. You've got a lot of support here. So keep us posted. And if you hit the jackpot, don't forget to throw a big bash for your Bike Forum Buds.

Thanks for the kind words. I am still riding, though not as much as I normally do. I rode 68 miles a few days ago and other than the nagging stomach ache and towing the extra 40 lbs around I felt fine. This is probaly my Karma biting me in the azz for all the fat jokes and wiseazz cracks about men taking Viagra I told over the years.

BTW if I win tonight there will be a helluva party! bad news or not!

Can assure you that the forst step to recovery has been taken by Seeing the doctor. Had a couple of serious scares over the past years and thanks to Getting it sorted- I am still here and still riding.

Good luck on the CT scan- And as I keep telling people on one of the other Forums I subscribe to- Don't worry. Just cut back on the pie-- Did I really say that- Or carry on on as normal. Bad results are are on paper and have proof- They don't just come in the head.

Yes, unknown medical problems are darn scary. I remember last 1.5 years lying on the gurney awaiting the ambulance while they tried for 2 hours to get an IV drip into my arm.

Yet, it has all ironed out just fine.

The worst is not knowing. The good part is that there is some excellent medical treatment available now if needed, as compared to 10 or 20 years ago.

You are in our prayers.

I, also, for some obscure reason, am prone to urinary infections. I've countered by drinking 2+ liters of water every day (in addition to intake at meals), and by controlling pH as needed. Hope a stubborn infection is all it is - you'll be in our prayers too.

Yes, stay positive, the fear of the unknown is our worst fear. Even bad news can be dealt with as so many here can attest to. And as Dnvr mentioned, treatment today is so much better than even just a few years ago.

Hang in there, we're all pulling for you.

Good luck man,

It seems that it comes with aging....medical scares. I made 52 yrs or so with nothing at all and then in the last few yrs I've had several. For a few days it seems like its all coming down, and then (usuallly) it turns into something you can handle just fine. Then there will be another scare down the line. In 10 yrs you will definitely look back and think about how young you were at 49.

Yes, good luck to you and best wishes on the lotto as well.

As already mentioned, keep those positive thoughts flowing and drinking plenty of water.

Cyclist0094 06-04-06 06:45 AM

Well I didn't win the Lotto, not even close. So whatever is wrong with me is fixable. My wife is tearing up her travel brochures.

Here's hoping for easily spotted on the CT and easily dealt with. We'll be thinking of you, Bro.

well I have been poked and prodded, had more needles in my arm than Kurt Cobain
and best of all the CT scan reminded me of the LSD trip scene from the "Great Lebowski"
My doctor's words" if I find anything serious I will call you if not I will see on June 26th" ARRGH! One day so far no phone call...................... I did buy another lotto ticket

wouldn't it be nice if they just called and said 'look, just to ease your mind, we didn't find anything serious'. That would be good doctoring...

best of luck with it

cheers

Hang in there, Velo - we're all pulling for you!

Hang in there. I went throught something similar last year fortunately for me mine turned out to be "nothing". Doctors tend to be very cautious and thorough and rightfully so. We certainly want them to be that way.

The group here was very supportive of my situation last year and it helped me a great deal as I was waiting to see a "tumor specialist" to get more definitive answers. The waiting part always leads to lots of speculation. Keep us posted on your outcome.
