Well, the Missus dit it!

Less than a week after struggling with 100+ temps and a banged up knee, my wife (seafoam) and I headed out this morning looking to do another long ride. When it all ended, we had done 102.70 miles! This is my second time going over 100 and my wife's first time. She really rode well today. Conditions were perfect and the weather was much nicer! I just want to congratulate her on her first century!

Congrats to both of you! I've never done a century. Don't ride fast enough to do it in a reasonable time. It must've cooled more than a little for that kind of distance.

That for both of you!

Congrats!! This has been an interesting story through last week and now this. That's a great ride and takes effort as I know from just completing my first century in early July. You should go out and celebrate, perhaps have a few wheel lugs,(shots) to go along with your fat tires!

Having recently turned...a certain age that allows me to take part in this forum, I've been concerned that perhaps I was insured to the point that my husband was trying to do me in. #1: "Let's hike up Half Dome -- it's easy!". Okey doke. #2: A road trip in Ireland with my son for which the spouse rented me a car with stick shift. Shifting left-handed on narrow roads near cliffs? Big cliffs? Hmmm. #3: "I signed you up for the Auburn Century." Whaaaa?

(It was pretty good to get back up on that horse yesterday).

#1: "Let's hike up Half Dome -- it's easy!".
Our whole family did that when I was about 10 years old. We have a picture of my older sister sitting with her feet dangling over the edge. I couldn't reach both of the supporting cables, so I went up using just the right side cables. Of course, in those days, we were the only ones on the dome. Today, I guess you need a reservation!

And, congratulations to both of you on the Century. An accomplishment you will never forget.

I think she will out ride me in short order. Today she asks..."So, where are we going to ride today?". We decided to take the bikes up the hill to Nevada City. Lots and lots of hills! All in all another great riding day.

Great job! Take her out for a nice dinner and a bottle of wine. Enjoy it! This is a great accomplishment. Money can't buy it.

Tell her that she is very special. My guess is that she is one in a Million here in the USA?
What do you guys think? How many married women will go SOLO over 100 miles? Do you think we find more than 300? Nobody in this town.
