Tour de Donut
They are going to have the Tour de Donut at the Katy Mills mall,in Texas Nov. 5.That's in Katy Texas and they are going to have 2 races, one 28 and one 55.Here's the good part, for every donut you eat you get 5 min. off. I lost a lot of weight the last few months and I was thinking to go on the 28 m.and eat about 6 donuts. That should put me in the money. You get a T shirt and all the donuts you can eat for $25 :D Should be fun,George

$25 dollars! Man, they'd lose money if the BF 50+ regulars showed up as a large group. ;) Now, let's see five minutes for each donut.... 55 miles divided by 5..... Yeah, I can handle that.

You might want to rethink how many donuts you'll have. They have a Tour de donut in Illinois every year. Some of the winners - on adjusted time- end up with negative times.

They need to start a Tour de Pie.

I hope you have to eat them at the rest stop, otherwise the speedsters would take a pile and leave them along the side of the road between checkpoints wasting perfectly good donuts, and leaving none for when I roll through! :D |
...hope they provide trans-fat free doughnuts...can't be too carefull at our age

In college when I burned more calories than I consumed every day, we'd make a regular run to Krispy Kreme at 10 pm when doughnuts were just coming out of the fryer. I'd eat one dozen on the way back to the dorm and then push down another 6. Then I'd give the other 6 away to co-eds.......
I still love 'em but more than 1 1/2 make me feel pretty ugly. Gosh-the same thing has happened with consuming beer............... |
George,
It's a pretty fun ride, even if you don't like donuts:eek: . There are lots of people that ride that don't eat a single one, leaving more for the rest of us:D . Last year the winner on the 28 mile route ate 24 donuts and finished 8 minutes before he started. Mmmm, Krispy Kremes! And all the profits go to the local Make A Wish Foundation, which gives you a good feeling long after the donuts are digested.... B'Dog |
No Shipley's Donuts? I thought Krispy Kreme had fled the state under compulsion of Shipley's consistent quality and lower prices...no way I'd ride 28 miles for a Krispy Kreme. Gimme a Shipley's hot from the fryer any day!
