There's a Madison Craigslist posting of a Schwinn Paramount frame & fork for just $165. Don't those frequently go for upwards of $500?

Talk to Rev Bob and the expert in the cv forum, they go for more than that, especially if they have some chrome bling on the forks and lugs.
You took the words out of my mouth Tom,suggesting Gary purchase a classic roadie built in the 80,s.You can change out the stem to raise the drop bars for a more confortable ride on long tours fo $10-20.
Gary, did you close the deal on those Wheaties socks? The Dollar store(national chain) here has bike socks with really cool graphics.I purchased several pairs. The appear to be well made.If you think my daughters hate my lycra shorts, wait till the see the socks on me.eeeekkk!mooooom!!!!

I made my mileage goal in '06!
Proud to report I made my mileage goal in '06. I rode 1,802.3 miles. In '05, I went 1800.4. For '07, I am shooting for 2200 miles, the equivalent of across the USA. Making the '06 goal wasn't a sure thing until the last week, when I rode 150 miles in five days.

Get that CF bike you liked so much and your actual miles will increase dramatically. When you really like your bike, and it fits right, you ride way more. bk
