Here's some snow just for you. We are supposed to get about 12-15 more inches??? It is drifting a lot. Oh, I just finished a 20 miler - you know us macho types - nothing stops us! Here is what the weather service says:

Blizzard Warning

Late Afternoon: Periods of snow with widespread blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 27. Blustery, with a north northwest wind around 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 9 to 13 inches possible.

Tonight: Periods of snow with areas of blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 16. Blustery, with a north northwest wind between 15 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.

Thursday: Snow showers likely with areas of blowing snow, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 27. Wind chill values between zero and 10. North northwest wind between 10 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Amen to that. Winter around D.C. is dismal - it hardly ever just snows but drizzles. That's enough for complete gridlock.

We've had maybe 3" so far this winter where I'm at in Wisconsin. It melted off several days ago. I wouldn't mind having a layer of 3"-5".

I can categorically state that he is NOT out riding that bike! Caught a ride home from work with a friend who has a good Volvo; we cret along in a whiteout with drifts. He dropped us off at the park 'n ride (took a bus in this morning). We couldn't get the all-wheel-drive Subaru up our road and had to hike up in snowshoes. Now we're ensconced with a blazing fire, a purring kitty in front of the woodstove, glasses of wine. Life's good at 8,000 feet. It's still coming down to beat the band.

That sounds pretty neat.........but I'd get pretty tired of it after about 1 day and 1 night!! I can only eat so much snow cream!!

I came back from my bike ride in Manila to 13.5 inches of snow on 12-4 in Illinois. It was fun going from 95 to 4 gegrees in 21 hours. Plus it took me an hour to shovel my vehicle into the driveway. Being back home is good.

Well we only got about 10-12 inches here, but still snowing lightly. Wind has also gone down a bit. Many roads still closed. Looks like most of the storm is out of here (and Denver) and things will begin to return to normal soon. But, with cold temps likely for quite a while, probably no more outdoor riding for me this year.

Hint to future home buyers in the snow country. That corner lot with circular drive looks REALLY nice; UNTIL you have to get all of the snow off the sidewalks and driveway. Then the REALLY nice part become a bit of a PITS (substituting shoulder for another anatomical feature).

You must be kidding. There is NO weather in which we MACHO types can't ride outside! Just ask some of our forum members.

We got a whole bunch more snow last night, spent the last 2 hours with snow blower and shovel. I will post an "updated" picture soon.

My neighbors house, and my other neighbor who is TOTALLY stuck with his Expedition

Serious snow Denver, Thaks for posting the pics. We have had little snow here, just a layer of ice from the last snow (warm to cold rapidly) and cold temps. Been a real bust of a winter for SW Montana so far. I need to SKI!

I think I would rather be riding my bike in the snow than trying to fly anywhere on United today

Geez, I had to wear a fleece vest on my ride in to work today.

That much snow would make me glad I had a basement completely outfitted as a home gym!

I'd want a Surly Pugsley with huge tires to try riding in that much snow...

It's trying to snow here in NorCal, hope it makes it a white Christmas. Not quite as white as Dnvr's, though. It looks like I may not get out on the bike for a couple of days, then company comes . . . .

Well, some of the larger 4x4 pickups with big snow tires have made a track to the main plowed road (about 1/2 mile).

So, the Expedition got out, finally. I don't know about my Caravan, but I think I will wait until we get a snow plow or some sun melt. However, it is still snowing - no sun yet!

A BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MST TODAY.

PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS. ANOTHER
COUPLE INCHES OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED WITH THE HEAVIEST TOTALS IN THE
SOUTHERN METRO AREAS. TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 18 TO 30 INCHES ARE
EXPECTED IN MANY LOCATIONS. AS MUCH AS 30 INCHES OF SNOW WILL FALL
IN THE SOUTHERN SUBURBS AND EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN DENVER AND THE
PALMER DIVIDE AREA.

Strange as it may seem, I love the snow, and the things associated with it. But the difference is, here in Denver the sun will come out and most of it will melt, and I will have a 65F day in January for a beautiful ride over a plowed trail with lovely white snow along the sides.

As you may have heard- Not much Flying in the UK- Heathrow is fog bound. Had People on the News- moaning about not being able to get to Austria for christmas. Most other International Airports in the same condition so a lot of people that have spent a lot of money to get away from our dreary weather are going to be unhappy.

It is cold and Damp over here- but just had a flurry of snow- About 3 flakes fell on the car windscreen as I was getting in from work.
