Don't think so! Did a lot of sailing (race, mostly) in my teens/early 20s (born/raised on Canada's wet coast) -- never really detected any inter-hull rivalry. Sometimes wonder whether my frau begrudges the time/attention lavished on the bike, though! Could be she's just worried cycling will unduly prolong my life!

If you live in Denver the only way you commute to work is by dog sled. Also you better have chains on that sled due to the Chain Laws they have out there.Wait till that mess melts, then the fun begins.
Here in northern Ohio,I am starting to become vague on what snow looks like, and that suites me just fine.
Welcome to the Old Geezer forum, the Sun City of cycling. What hurts or aches when you ride?Do you glance at young women joggers or keep your eyes forward?Do 20-somethings pass you and give you "the look"?And foremost, what type of road bike should Gary buy?
These question should put you up to speed in this forum.

Welcome to our madhouse! As I am typing we are in our first whiteout of the winter and I hear the fire siren going off. Someone musta missed a curve in the storm.

Welcome to the Old Geezer forum

Well, the "chain laws" almost always refer to commercial truck-type vehicles. A passenger vehicle with adequate all-weather tires gets you around the "chain check" stations with no problems.

I have lived here 35 years on and off since 1962, and have put chains on only once - and that was on a heavy Chevy van with rear wheel drive so my son could drive it around the neighborhood. I do not have any four-wheel drive vehicles, and I have never been stuck, and I get out a lot.

Speak for yourself about the "Old Geezer" bit. Perhaps it applies to you?

Hey, all that snow is there so that Colorado can look like Colarado in the spring and summer. Whereas Arkansas will still be looking like . . . well . . . Arkansas :D

BTW, welcome, Bentnail!
