Another One Turns Official...

I MADE IT!!!

I haven't waited so long for a birthday since I was a kid.

Even though I have always felt welcomed in this forum and feel like I have fit in with the crowd here, I entered the golden age yesterday, and now feel like I am really part of the crowd.

Now, if I can survive the wait for the thaw to get back on the road.

Thanks for allowing this self-congratulatory message!

I have already received my obligatory AARP solicitation...

Happy Birthday, and just remember that if you haven't succumbed to the siren lure of the AARP, they will hound you for years...I think it took them at least two years before they gave up on me. And soon it will be Sammilove's turn...

As I haven't yet received your membership application, or, more importantly, your membership FEE, you are only a provisional member!

Whats AARP? and I really do not want an answer unless it is worthwhile for me to Emigrate and change nationalities.

Well done for the (small) 50. You still have a way to go so the learning curve starts here. The birthday ride should be completed before you are 51- so hopefully you are up to it. Pics of the pie is the norm but you may be let off with pics of the heat rash from the flaming inferno on top of the birthday cake. and Then there are the contributions. Dnvrfx has hinted at them but please remember that Cash is better. And If I remember rightly- You have a UK Benefit in that you can participate in the Zimmer frame races on Eastbourne Pier.

I dumped AARP when they supported Bush just before the '04 election. As for turning 50, congrats. Some of the best years have been between 50 and 60. Although, I must say, I've lost my patience with some people and events having seen it all many times now. Of course getting on the bike and letting it all fade away is one of life's little joys.

ain't it the truth!

Congrats, LD, on reaching 50 (although only this forum would be so self-serving as to offer salutations rather than condolences ). No black greeting cards or ballons here, for sure.
