Poll: How many find the global warming thread boring?
Maybe its just me, and no disrespect intended for those of you on either side of the debate (except for those of you who are wrong, of course)...
|
I'm sorry Gary but global warming it just to damn important to
ALL of us to not keep talking ,and working on, ways to stop or reduce its impact on the earth. The minute that people stop talking about an important issue it sldes back to forgotten land. Global warming is to important to allow that to happen.......even here at Bikeforums.net. |
Sorry DG, I rose to the bait like a starving fish. Rhetoric trumps logic everytime no matter which side you take. I'll try to be good.
But you have to admit that the cow thing really got them warmed up... |
Don't know. The topic didn't look very interesting to me so I never opened it up.
|
global warming has finally reached and equal status with politics and religion: subjects you dont want to discuss unless you enjoy making people mad.
|
Me. It belongs in P&R. Moderator!! YO!! MODERATOR!
|
Yeah, it needs to go to P&R. I don't recognize half the folks yakking about it...but I sure do like to bait them.
|
I did not vote. The world almost entirely accepts it's validity. So do I. The debate is old. I won't even open such discussions. Seems pointless. I do not even like thinking it necessary to discuss such. Either we are suicidal or not. Don't care much for Florida anyway.

I'm bored with people who aren't willing to address what's obviously a grave problem. Does that count?

Lefties are always trying to shut down disent. I say take it to the streets.
|
In the streets probably won't get all that far without shoes.
|
Naah, in these here parts we can walk across broken glass, our feet are so tough.
I got SPD cleats sewn into my skin. |

Lets face it, the vast majority of us don't really know any of the others here. Yes, a few actually ride or have ridden together at some point, but thats rare. Ultimately we have some great parlor conversations that also bring some new info (depending on if its new for you) to light. Usually in the ailments/conditions/crosses we must bear. I don;t know about you, but I mostly feel 'connected' to people I have met in meat space. That some 20 or 30 something can actually feel 'connected' to something purely from a 1 & 0 internet connection, escapes me. Cocktail conversation is usually at its best when you can breeze the room and dabble into the conversation around the fireplace, the one out on the deck or the heated one in the kitchen. Once you start tawkin the same old stuff around the room, the Half-life has diminished rapidly and its time to 'sorry, got to get the babysitter home before ..." Lets face it, there are a few elder statemen (women?) in any of the BF forums includind 50+, but the vast 'unwashed' (in which I count myself) are at best 3 seasons or younger. Anybody wanna guess why? So throw us a freekin bone If we can put up with Diegos adnauseum, despite moderatorial intervention, then global bar-bie doesn;t seem so off-topic. |

Ain't no big thang...but I'm still entitled to my two cents on it, just as the sadly unenlightened anti-Diegos gave us theirs! And clearly I have no power here anyway (which is just as well), because as you can see the thread now resembles an Everready battery -- going and going and going! So yes, I can live and let live. Peace, my brother. |

I have been posting much less in the 50+.
I just can't seem to keep up with the unannounced contests and the P&R appropriate posts, and the cutesy "insider" posts any more. Nothing wrong with them. And more power to the posters. It just isn't my "cup of tea" right now. Maybe I am just burned out on posting in general? [EDIT] As I just reviewed a listing of recent posts, there is still a lot of good stuff in between the chaff. So, it must be ME, not the forum! Maybe I've said all I can say. Anything more is just a repeat. :D |
Bottled water is a Scam and just because shoes are grey doesn't mean they're adequately soft.
I urgently request recommendations for a reputable/credible "carbon offset" retailer because the COLD weather is not affording bicycle riding (time or distance) suficient to avoid exceeding my unspecified/undefined carbon allotment/allowance. |
