Please. Just why would a 50+er want to do that?
Of course, it could give you an extra optical inch if you do it correctly.

Here is a serious response...https://www.gillettevenus.com/us/. Make sure the sound on the computer is on to get the full effect . Do not use a man's face razor! It will be a bloodbath . Good luck.

If you have an electric razor, or better yet an electric hair trimmer, use that on your legs first to knock down the tall stuff.
Then, use plenty of "gel" lather (it stays on better than the Gillette Foamy style of shave cream).
Take your time, and try to make longer smooth strokes.
You'll probably knick yourself until you get the hang of it.
Finally, have some lotion or skin care stuff ready to put on your legs to reduce itchiness.
Be prepared to feel a bit "weird" at first...pants feel different, crawling into bed feels different, going out in public with shorts feels *really* different.
The good news is, it's a "serious cyclist" tribal ritual, and many women find it a turn on (YMMV).

I've read that committed cyclists prefer to pull the hairs out, thereby reducing any last remaining drag caused by stubborn stubble.

It was because of a bee sting for me
So here I was out in the middle of BFE and I ride thru a group of bees minding their own business and a couple got caught in my heretofore untouched leg hairs. They promptly stung the crap out of me, all the while trying to remember if I was allergic to bee stings.
Ever since, start of the year, season sheer the wool down to the nubbins....

He is doing it in the name of scientific research. Research into the unsubstantiated claims of the "fringe benefits" of having smooth legs.
Should his research bear (or is that bare?) fruit, several of us may be shaving this summer.

did this myself for the first time about a month ago. Just soap and a bic razor...nary a nick or cut. For me, it's the ease of sunscreen application. At my age, I doubt any chicks will find it sexy.

I feel goofy enough in shorts with tan lines mid thigh, shaving would be too much. My 13yo daughter would have a heart attack she already tells me go hide when I come out in my bibs.
