I was watching the history channel the other night. The Japanese army was riding bicycles across the maylasian peninsula on their way to invade Singapore. The bikes looked just like the one in the pics.
World Famous. Imported 15 years ago. Why do I have my doubts about both of those statements?

there was an article about the famous Flying Pigeon cycleworks in China in Cycling Magazine in the past month or so - this was the bicycle for the people & literally millions and millions have been produced...
these days other manufacturers are taking most of the market share but the FP is still popular because it is so cheap, it is rarely stolen when a newer brand/model is parked next to it.

Reminds of the type of bike around when I was in my eleventeens By the time I got my Raleigh Trent Tourist when I was 13- The world famous style bikes (Or the Hercules as they were in England) were old hat. Still the bike is worth buying just for taht suspended saddle.
