Friday is Ride a Bike to Work Day

At least here in San Diego, I don't know about elsewhere. Since I work from home, I guess that means doing an out and back from my doorstep before that first client phone call, right?

If I register, I have a chance at some "valuable" prizes, including a new "commuter-style" bike (valued at $300).

https://www.ridelink.org/Special_Prom..._day/index.asp
Anyone else have these rides?

Yep, we have them in the Bay Area on Thursday as well... I had entertained the crazy thought of at least getting of the train 5 or 6 stops early and riding in from there but then I realized I'm going to an overnight off-site Thursday/Friday and my wife and I are going straight to the theater from there when I'm finished.
Oh well, not this year, I guess

I'm holding out for the take a day off from work day to ride a bike. Oh wait, I do that too often now.

Go! You could get lucky and win that commuter bike

We're having one in our area. https://www.metroparks.org/_fiveRiver...iketoWork.aspx

The volunteer bike group will be leading rides from different locations around town and meeting at the 2nd Street Market for breakfast.

The Drive Less, Live More campaign has decided to extend the program this year. There will be rides for the next three Fridays but breakfast will be at the starting location. From there we'll be riding to the Riverscape Park in the downtown area. The volunteer bike group will be leading these rides, too. I don't work on Fridays so I'll have the chance to participate in all of the rides.

I get two days like this every year from my employer

Our company gives us two days each year to do volunteer work in the community. My volunteer bike patrol work qualifies

I'm soooooo jealous. Biking to work isn't an option for me unless I want to spend 3-4 hours biking in addition to the 10 hours of work each day

The Bicycle Advocacy of Central Arkansas has them every month in Little Rock. I don't participate because they are too early and then head into town. I live and work in the suburbs, so it would be waking up early and a long ride before work.

On the days I don't go to a client's office, (or to my PT gig at the library) that's the way I count 'em. Except I prefer loops to out-and-back.

Work is 1.5 miles from the house. I ride 10 - 15 miles per day before work.

I am finally going to be back home and in my office Thursday and Friday. Weather is looking ok, so maybe I'll ride mine to work. No prizes, but fun anyway.

I haven't decided yet. Work is only about 3 1/2 miles by bicycle but it's not the most bicycle friendly route. I also have a funny work schedule that starts at 6:00 AM and includes a 3 hour break in the middle of the day that I use for running errands etc. I'm still thinking about it.

Friday here in Washington D.C. metro as well. Signed up, I'll get fed, a T shirt etc. I'm riding the bike with panniers
I"ve encouraged a coworker to start and ride on Friday.
Friday will make 5 days this week! My daughter doesn't mind - she needed the car today.

I just finished grading my last finals. Today after I enter my grades in the system we take inventory in the lab so I can order supplies for the fall.

Tomorrow I am off!

No riding to work! Just riding for fun!
