I Like Them, I Like Them

Just went out at lunch and test rode a Cannondale CAAD8 and Felt F65. Both are Ultegra with compact cranks. I liked the Felt a little better. It was not as harsh as the Cannondale. I will go back though and ride a Cannondale Synapse with carbon stays to see if it's better. I might even ride a full carbon, just for kicks.

Oh No  , am I turning into a Bombadil. Test riding road bikes at lunch searching for that perfect fit until hell freezes over.

You could have a much worse fate, ya know.

You could buy a gorgeous full carbon fiber bike and put platform pedals on it.

Just kidding....don't get your knickers in a twist......;)

What a coincidence, I happened to be in the bike shop yesterday as well, and I happened to have a tape measure with me to. I was taking measurements of the Madone. Do you know that on a 58cm Madone is 36" from the back of the saddle to the hoods. Do you know that the back of my saddle to the front of the trekking bars are 36". I'm in big trouble, I think.

Stop looking at it right now- Get the catalogue and do your drooling over that and get it out of your system. Then tomorrow- you can go back into the shop and not ruin a perfectly good frame by making it dirty. Either that or wear a kiddies bib whenever you look at the real thing.

Don't know if it applies to drool- but if you lick it- It's yours.

Now as to that cannondale- I have yet to find an aluminium Cannondale that does not require Full Suspension. And that includes the road bikes aswell. Harsh ride but a responsive bike that is a joy to ride. C.F. would probably take the bite out of the saddle and hopefully not affect the quality of handling.
