age related role reversal?

I just called my sweet daughter Lucy. She came to Bahrain for a year, didn't like it for all kinds of reasons, and went back to finish her school years in UK (she's 18).

I mentioned that I've just bought a little Yamaha motorcycle for putting about on dirt tracks in the desert - 250cc dirt bike.

"If you get squashed, I'll never speak to you again. Sell it, you silly old man" was her point of view. This from my fearless tandem stoker with the family top speed and distance record, and who used to ask me to take her for a ride on the old Ducati.

I thought it was my job to counsel her to avoid reckless endangerment?

Sweet that she cares, but I think the pedal bike and the tandem are riskier here.

Anyone else been told off by their delightful offspring?

Only by the wife for spreading mud over the kitchen. See that's the trouble with females- Always thinking of themselves and not of the poor male that has to get clean somewhere.

Mine simply come out for the annual ride with the geezer. They drop me which is a form of getting told off.

Strange how they always want to go on uphill rides however.
