What's wrong with this picture?

Nice shoes!

The Weak Link 06-25-07 12:10 PM

Seat post looks too short. Doesn't seem to bother him but it makes my knees sore looking at it.

The bike, however, looks like the most beautiful in the world.

Red Baron 06-25-07 12:11 PM

Not that there is anything wrong, but me thinks the seat is too low.

Plus, I don't see no sweat!

Beverly 06-25-07 12:55 PM

It doesn't look as bad as I originally thought it might:) The shoes do seem to match the shorts:rolleyes:

I think Grampster deserve points for not letting the forgotten shoes ruin a great ride!

MNBikeguy 06-25-07 01:03 PM

Uhhh.... White bike? :D

Big Paulie 06-25-07 01:39 PM

Yup, white bike...

Jeeeezz, where to start. It looks like you got a squirrel living in your rear pockets. Any OCP knows your helmet must match your jersey. Where in the Washington DC area are there rides like that? Are they really penny loafers? Are you working deliberately toward knee replacement? Why does the road appear level but the rest of the horizon doesn't? A black water bottle? Like your beverages on the warm side during the summer, do ya? Where's the rest of the peloton? Frankly, I think we need to do some drug testing. You realize, I trust, that all of this is just in fun.

MNBikeguy 06-25-07 01:46 PM

Wow! When did Florsheim start making a road shoe?

Tom Bombadil 06-25-07 01:52 PM

Ouch, that picture makes my knees hurt by just looking at it.

When I ride that low, they start screaming.

However I am relieved in that the blown-up pic shows the bike to be mostly red.

MNBikeGuy - You got it - Team Florsheim!

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...ikes/shoe2.jpg

While others had great entries, the judges were looking for the brand of shoes. Penny loafers indeed, on Eggbeater pedals no less.

By the way, Grampster's knee you are looking at has already been replaced. And he's turning into a monster on hills, Florsheims or not. And the rest of the pelton was far behind.

How about a free Spinervals DVD for the person to get the closest to guessing how many miles the mighty Grampster rode in the Florsheims on Sunday's bike ride? Actual mileage is based on my Garmin Edge. Contest is only open to those who qualify to be in the 50+ forum (meaning those foolish enough to come here, regardless of age).

MNBikeguy 06-25-07 02:20 PM

LOL..Great story!
I know a gramp that went coast to coast on a fred bike wearing brown polyester pants and those old street shoes with the side zipper up the ankle. He could dust me like pledge.....

I'll take a stab .... 110?

I could always use another bike training DVD to catch the dust in the bookcases:rolleyes:

46.7 miles

Its best to use crank bros cleats on crank bros pedals.

cooker 06-25-07 02:32 PM

Bike is too small.

The Weak Link 06-25-07 02:36 PM

I own the same model bike, and I can most assuredly tell you that the bike is not white. It is red with white highlights.

RoMad 06-25-07 03:23 PM

32.5 miles and then his feet hurt so bad he had to stop.

Red Baron 06-25-07 04:09 PM

Has his doctor reviewed his riding position?

I was told by a knee specialist, who is also an avid cyclist, that riding a lot of miles in the wrong position was a good way to aggravate knee problems.

Who decieded that the color white qualifies as a "highlight???" Why couldn't it be "white accents," or even "white lowlights?" :p

Just askin' ... :D
