Cure for helmetline?

Yeah, so when we get older the hairline falls back, leaving increasing acreage of exposed forehead.

Problem is that the new helmets are so efficient at moving air and the openings are larger. Add that to getting in better condition leading to increase miles and hours under the summer sun.

Well, where I used to have hair on my head, now I have helmet tan lines. You can tell which helmet model I have by the precise tanning on my dome.

I'm going to spend some time with an older helmet so that i can at least mix up the pattern, kind of a tan camouflage.

Worthless without Pics.

Know what you mean as I have a helmet with such large openings- That I have now taken to wearing a Bandanna next to the scalp. Helps on reducing the sweat running into the eyes aswell.

Cycling cap . . . Keeps chrome-dome covered, sun out of your eyes and you can use it as an emergency rag to wiple your hands!

Headsweats, or any of the other head coverings already mentioned. In addition to keeping the tan lines at bay, they also actually keep me cooler and when a bee flies into one of the helmet vents, I'm less likely to get stung.

I'll remain worthless, thank you

Racing stripes sounds good. Doesn't anyone use the wet cabbage leaf anymore?

Yes, I'll have to try some version of the skull cap/head covering of some type.

White Nike skullcap is the best I've found so far. About $15 at any athletic clothing store.

A couple of comments responding to Motorad's post also.....first, I find that a baseball hat worn backwards, catcher style, makes an excellent (and cheap) way to protect the head, soak up sweat and even keep the sun off the neck--to prevent red-neckism.

Sweat in eyes can be a serious problem, especially if it includes sunscreen, so it is a good idea to not put (excuse the split infinitive) any sunscreen on your forehead (no matter how big the forehead ) or anywhere near your eyes. The sunscreen can really burn the eyes. Also, be sure to wash your hands after applying sunscreen so that you don't accidentally rub your eyes and cause the same problem.

I often carry a washcloth (dry) in a baggie tucked into a jersey pocket in case the sweating gets really bad. A dry wipe of the eyes can feel mighty good on a hot day--and you can always wet it from a water bottle if need be.
