Was Stapfam on the Podium today?
I saw the podium ceremonies at the end of Stage 1 of Le Tour today and the riders were shaking hands with a pleasant fellow with a white beard off to the side. Was that you Stapfam??? I bet you told them you were a dignitary from the 50+ forums and they gave you special privilidges to get inside the ropes!!!

Not sure if that was stapfam, but the guy on the top step of the podium (don't want to spoil it for anyone yet to see it) sure put in one amazing finish. I am a much bigger fan of the mountain stages, but today's flat stage made a good case for the excitement factor of a sprint finish.
Holy Moly!

Yesterday's finish was truly remarkable. Just an incredible finish by the little Australian........Just came out of nowhere. I can't believe he had anything left after chasing for so long. What a really smart move at the end as well.

Agreed, jppe. I thought that was one of the most amazing stage wins I've seen. I just can't believe he managed to move through the entire peloton that close to the end.

Thatsthe trouble with the Aussies- They are always in the right place when they are not expected. It was a fantastic win by him and I would not put it down to Luck either- Thats was fitness, skill and team Effort that won him the stage.
Haven't seen it yet but I have to watch Boonan losing yet anither sure win today.
OH- The Houseboy was on the TV When scenes were shown at Goudhurst.

To be that alert, head's up, and focused (especially after a crash and a possible injury and all the "I've blown it" that many would be demoralized by)....whoa!!
