Hey JPPE and other climbing fools....

Don't know how this one slipped by - but here's a nice century in our neck of the woods:

https://www.blueridgeextreme.com/

Over 11,000 feet of climbing. Beautiful ride for sure, don't think I'm quite up to it but I'm thinking about it....

Hey Bob,

Maybe we could fail together...assuming you are going to be back in town for a few hours...!!!

Let's keep in touch on it. 11,000 feet is a lot of feet - maybe the metric. Or maybe I'll find a stash of EPO.

Count me in....for the metric. It's a very nice ride. Well supported--free massages at the end--but you earn them.

That makes 3 fools. Sounds Fun though. Don't know what categorie Ventoux is but the total climb is only V x 2. Should be a doddle. Just get an early start and be prepared to finish late.

Honestly wish I was over there at times and this could be one of those times.

This ride would just be an hors d'oeuvre for you, Stapfam. Mt. Ventoux is hors categorie.

Woosh!
I'm not a climbing fool...only a regular fool. It looks, to me, like a chain stretching lung buster.
I'll be home drinking a cold one.

Thank goodness I'll be in Philly that weekend. They have hills but no mountains.

It's much better. My doctor sent me for a venous ultrasound today just to rule out any circulation problems. The lady doing the test said she saw no obvious problems.

I did have a problem with the antibiotic they gave me. It caused water retention and everything swelled up twice its normal size My doctor took me off of it yesterday and everything seems to be returning to normal.

I should be okay for Michigan. Guess I'll have to wait on the final results from the ultrasound but all indications are I'll be ready to ride by Sunday. Since we'll be doing our own sagging I'll be able to cut the mileage down if necessary.

Ah, that's good news.

And now back to your regular programming.
