Make sure you tell her this a few weeks down the road, and how proud you are of her for being responsible and taking steps to get things right. But, I'm probably preaching to the choir.

In a couple of months a bicycle is going to be looking really tempting to her as she realizes that it may be slower than a car, but offers the same control of your life. Then it's time to take her down to Adams Avenue. ;)

I agree with Artkansas. In most of the cities in which I have lived, a bike is faster than a bus. It is obviously far more convenient as well. Also, if your busses have carriers for bikes it makes sense to combine the two modes.

I'm having trouble getting past the 103 weight mark...if I weighed 103, I'd move to Alpe D'Huez and do nothing but ride up it all day, everyday!!!
