Dropping out for a while I think
I'll admit to an occasional lack of patience but it just takes the fun right out of it when I have to wait a minute, minute and a half -sometimes more- everytime I click on a link.
This place is having its problems and I think I'll give the powers to be some time to get their act together.
See ya later. Keep riding. I will.

Sorry to see this. Many seem to be having problems yet for me, response times are just fine. I use Roadrunner cable at home and tonight I am using DSL up in the Adirondaks. I wonder if it is a broader internet congestion problem.

SKT: Having been here for a while, I can testify that service ebbs and flows over time...we've all experienced frustrations here. I found Firefox to be quickest for me, but Joe's server sometimes turns it to jello, too. Check back frequently...before long you'll probably find your service "up" again...at least for a time.

I'm having the same problem as you. I upgraded to the fastest speed I could get and it still takes forever to get on at times and it is very frustrating.

I think SKT went and added his four cents worth.

Could just be my timing but I haven't had any issues recently. Maybe I've been out on the golf course too much.

It's not the speed of your internet connection. It doesn't matter how fast your data transfer rate is when you're waiting for a server to respond and data is not actually being transferred.

Not working here either--I'm still using dial-up, which I expect to be slow, using Firefox as the browser, but now all the blinking ads we all know & love don't even show, and can't scroll down to the latter posts. Hope they get it sorted out soon (even though I don't post often).

I very rarely notice any problem with response times at this site. There are numerous local processes that can overload your personal machine or network. These should affect all sites and most other processes though. Also, every local machine follows a different path to the site. One's ISP and intervening bandwidth could cause bottlenecks.

Just tried the site using MSN Explorer as the browser & it works fine. But doesn't work with Firefox, usually if there is a problem, Firefox will be the one to work. I'll be sure to let 'em know what I just found so maybe whatever it is might be fixed. Sure is good to be able to read it all again, though!

sad. hurrying through the day.. or being delayed in one's hurry through the day will not delay our ultimate departure one iota. that said.... what's the hurry?
this forum is for sharing joys, sorrows, ideas, victories, losses, rants and raves.... occasional delays of the server type are a small price to pay for time with friends.

and be well,

I must be catching it at a good time, response seems pretty good right now.
That's another observation... it's "bursty". I can go along fine for a couple of minutes, maybe traverse a link or three and then it just locks up and grinds to a halt.
I'm sure they'll get it all figured out.

Posters come and posters go, but the pavement always beckons.........
I have no idea what that means, but it sounded cool.

No problems ever for me unless the server is completely down. Does membership have it's priviledges? I notice others complain about the amount of ads but I never see them.
