Hey everyone! Been sick for the past year. kind of like lymes but without the lymes, but apparantly it was caused by some weird insect bites. I'm feeling great now, though, and kind of coming back to life.
How is everyone? How is ol' pardeeville and its keeper, Tom Bombadil? I'll be logging in more...I just have to develop the habit again.
Love you all and miss you.

(Ooooh btw I'm almost 50 so no more debates as to whether I belong here or not! LOL)

Welcome back, good to see you again. T Bomb is still up to his usual shenanigans. We've got lots of new members plus a few old members have disappeared, (temporarily I hope).
Looks like your pet squirrel is still pounding the Budweiser. He's probably about ready for a new liver by now.

Wow, welcome back!
This thread's popped up every once in a while with folks wondering about your well being and some of us would get fooled into thinking that you had come back, but you hadn't. I almost didn't check when I saw it this morning.
Glad to hear you're feeling much better and that you will be visiting more.

She's Alive! She's Alive!
You are still suffering from that old bite, didn't you think it was a spider bite way back when you first got it.
That's terrible. Sorry to hear it. Isn't it amazing how little things can affect our lives.
Well, it is good to hear from you again and that you are much better now. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Just got a text from my son, who is camping in southwest Wisconsin this weekend: "Dad, what's the Deke Slayton Bike Museum?"

I've lived just a few miles away for 33 years and only first visited the museum a couple of years ago.

I've been there a couple of times. They have some neat stuff there.
I just spent 4 days close to that area, but never into Elroy or Tomah. Mostly hiking around the Kickapoo Valley / River area. So nice this time of year.

I used to live in Elroy. Back in 1976-1978. I taught special needs students in New Lisbon. I lived just off the Elroy-Sparta trail. Then, it was a novelty.

Badger Trail has funding to complete the final section to the Madison SW Bike Path. However the Wisconsin Dept of Admin fouled up the bid and it had to be re-bid. Delaying the project by a few months. It should be done sometime this year, but who knows when.

Tom Bombadil posted a couple of times in November. I don't think Solveg has been around since her post from Feb. 2010.

It is eerie that this thread was bumped up. I have been watching for Tom and Solveg lately and wondering where they had been. I hope they are doing well. I really miss their posts and threads.

Hi guys! I keep meaning to start reading regularly again, but I seem to have lost the habit!
I logged into BF today because there was an article on my google page about the "East Coast ******" and one of the comments in an article was that he road his bike huge distances all the time. So I thought, "Gah.... I hope he's not someone I know from BF!"
So I logged in to see if there was a bruhaha going on (there is not).
Then the next thing I did is do a search for Tom. I hope he's OK....
A friend of mine's husband was diagnosed with Leukemia, and underwent stem-cell bone marrow transplants or something like that. He's doing well now, but he can't handle a heavy bike. So I loaned him my beloved Klein, which he now doesn't want to let go of. So I traded him for his recumbent. So Tom and I could be bent buddies!
However, I took one look at the thing and got scared off. It's very very strange looking... it has a short wheelbase instead of the long, secure type I usually see. Ima gonna kill myself on it!
Anyway, Tom! Tom! Come out and play!
And Hi all you guys! It's lovely to see you again! Which room is discussing Pie at the moment?

I have one friend that has both.
She is so smooth on the long base bent, but squirrelly on the short one.

I PLAN to! I just forget to log in and then a year goes by. I live in a place where time and space collide. But I put the icon on my desktop, so we'll see if I can form a habit.
Wow. I just read this whole thread, and I'm so glad I did! I think that mysterious bug bit took me down for 3 years! I now have dates and details to tell my doctor next time it flares up. I hope Tom logs in.... this is really a sweet thread.
You guys still tearing up the roads?

Solveg, good to see you back.
Are you still going back to Kansas part of the year?
I've been there a lot over the past couple of years -- sick relatives, funerals, some happy stuff, some business dealings with the University of Kansas.
