Way OT: Looking for a good ipod reference book

I got a 30GB ipod (Fifth Generation iPod with video) a few years ago and I've barely used it (I know, I know....). Last time I plugged it into the computer to charge it, something didn't go right so I unplugged it and put it away... then forgot where I put it since I hid it from the next burglar who decides to pry open our front doors. :o Sigh.....

Now I want to get it out and really learn and use it. I saw a pocket guide at Barnes and Noble and thought I'd read the reviews at Amazon first. There, I found a few others with excellent reviews.

Can anyone recommend a good user-friendly iPOD book that will teach me all I need to know to use this thing? Something small would be nice, but most important is user-friendliness, easy to understand (hence why I came to the 50+ forum to ask ;) ), and will teach me all the basic features plus all the other cool features available that I probably don't know about.

I've got just the book for you: iPod Fully Loaded (If You've Got it, you can iPod it), by Andy Ihnatko. Great book!

Thanks DG. And it covers the Fifth Generation 30GB model too? I don't want a book that's devoted mostly to later models..... though I'm clueless as to what's on them.

Thanks DG. And it covers the 30GB model too (released Oct. 05)?

That's the kind of iPod I have.

Great - thanks!

Hey DG, I ordered it. It should be here on Monday... I hope... so I can use it while I am still off work. Thanks again!

Yen, I have the same model. With (this morning) 7129 songs on it and about 100 photos. I found that there is some neat stuff in the "help" menu at the top of your library. Check in there. While I'm no expert, feel free to PM me with specific (easy) questions. I can't live without mine and my wife has gotten hooked on her Nano, too.

Thanks Mojo, I'll check out the help menu.... just as soon as I can get it re-charged. That didn't work last time, tho' I had only a few minutes and finally gave up. I'm anxious to get it out and really, really use it.
