I've used two Tom Bombadil avatars in the past, including this one for several months:

I'm hoping the current one will rub off on my personality. After all, it is a goal to become a grouchy old man.

I tried being a cute little caterpillar once, but received heapings of criticism and abuse.

He's either keeping the one he has or he is going back to the winged helmet. And that's final. No caterpillars. No pigs. And no beatnik books either.

Me, too! I remember driving out to the desert in AZ to listen to the world series on shortwave radio....

Did you ever read "Men at Work" by George Will?

I meant to read that book, but never got around to it.

From my upper floor bedroom in the mountains of West Virginia, I could pick up the baseball games on the radio out of St. Louis, Pittsburgh, New York, Philadephia, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Boston, Baltimore, Washington DC, and Chicago. I spent many summer evenings up there listening to games, flipping from station to station, while growing up. I still love listening to baseball while driving.
