As soon as I looked at your picture, I immediately thought, "That looks like my everyday trail ride." Then it turns out to be a ride in Wisconsin.

This is my latest (view at weekend place) but I use a screen saver that cycles through a bunch of recent photos:

I've changed mine three times since I first posted on this thread. Here's my new one, from today's 56 mile ride. As you can tell I ride with a bunch of 50+ guys, 60+ actually.

You guys are looking great. I wish I will look as good ten years from now.

That is an absolutely awesome picture! How about telling us how you got it. The Mountain Lion is such a stealthy animal. The lighting and intensity in this cat's eyes is beautiful. It isn't a small cat either.

If it was in S. California it might have been watching the mountain bikers go by!

My maternal clan (Chisholm) crest. The corresponding dress tartan is my avatar. Our motto, "feros ferio," translates roughly as, "I am fierce with the fierce."

Here's mine. It's a picture I took at the National Archieves during a vacation to Washington DC in 2006. I photoshoped it and made it into a background for my Mac 30" cinema display ... 2560 X 1600.

Another Desktop from a series. A "walking street" (roofed over street) in Nara Japan.

Great shot! How far away was the eagle? What focal length lens?

Took this shot last Feb. Kinda liked it so stuck it on the desktop

HopedaleHills 01-09-08 08:34 AM

I cheated. That shot was taken in the Ft Worth Zoo. Even at that, I waited quite a while for her to come out from the trees. She was very shy. It was taken with a Nikon D80 and Nikkor 200mm lens. Actually, I kind of pride myself on doing zoo shots that don't look like zoo shots.

No theft involved. I paid the nice lady in the booth to get in to take that photo. ;)
I like the old Coast Guard colors much better than what they used when they repainted it last year. Here's another look
at the lighthouse from down on the beach.

If you had been on your bike, admission would have been free....

We ride all the way down to the quarry cove tide pool turn-around. Big chunks of asphalt (about 5-6" thick by 15 to 20 feet square)
at the lowest area got ripped up and tossed around by the big storm at the beginning of December, plus rocks from baseball to
exercise ball size tossed all over that area.

The fork is a Cannondale Lefty. Not sure I can explain it either, but it works!

maddmaxx 01-11-08 04:12 AM

Cannondale goes their own way sometimes. He went to the desert on a fork with one leg...:)

Sorry Solveg you can't have an exclusive.
