Rain & still rode my age today...

Got up this morning and immediately started to feel sorry for myself. There was a light rain & the weather forecast last night lead me to believe there wouldn't be any. So, I took my time eating breakfast and reading the paper, then convinced myself that I should ride even if it was wet and muddy. So, got out and got in the miles so I can say I did my age on the anniversary of the day my mother brought me into the world. Just as I was ending the ride, the sun came out, which made washing the bike and gettting it lubed and dried a much easier task. Today's not turning out so bad afterall.

At least you don't have a crash to report, which seems to be de rigueur for those of us in dryer climes!

Great job snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

BTW, what is your milage/age today???

I'm going to wait till it warms up a bit and is drier- Days like yours- and mine- put too many cars on the road with too many People mindlessly driving about without their brain in gear while they sight-see.

My hat is off to you. I wish I could say I put in 10 miles. Very foggy here, didn't see a single cyclist on the road - which is good as they would have had to have been a complete fool to be on the highway today. Hard to see cars with lights on.

You done good today! Hope the rest of your day goes as well.

Congrats!

I headed out to do 30 miles but got caught in rain -- and then snow -- about 12.5 miles into the ride -- so I turned back. I can ride in the rain, but I don't think I would want to ride my age in the rain...doing 56m in the rain is nothing to sneeze at!

I think that for any of us in this forum to be able to ride their age on their birthday is a wonderful achievement. To do it in January is even better. Congratulations.
