Get her Tom, get her good. Ask her if she still has secret plans to hang bikes from ropes in her garage.

That's enough for tonight. You have made substantial progress. You have issued a suitable confession, have bared your plans to surround your living space with bikes, and have cried out for help.

You are now on the road to recovery.

Once you rid yourself of some of these useless bikes, then you can safely resume acquiring bikes that actually fit you and that you will ride on occasion.

I'm afraid to ask if she has any buried in her backyard. Or disassembled and buried in Mason jars.

Solveg, the important question is, how many of the bikes are white?

I ride all* of them, except the varsity and the NB-26. I haven't rode the Peloton yet, because I just got it. But I really do ride them all! And I have* to have bikes up north and in KS, because I don't have room to haul them back and forth. In fact, I did my second longest ride ever on the Bridgestone 200!

Tom wants me to ask you why you don't just ride your bike from up north to Kansas and stop killing all the whales.

Too many dogs!

Terrierman, how many dogs do you* have?

Tom, Terrierman has more dogs than I have bikes.... (if you don't count the 2 I don't want to count.)

You must buy a new bike every year to appease the god of bridges. Never sell another one.
I think they finally stopped throwing virgins into the volcano.

If Bailey does not pedal his trike, do I have to take ownership of it ? Are those bags on the windshield mine too? I don't want them!

Okay, that has been enough of a break, Solveg.

Now rank your bicycles in order of preference. You can pick what kind of ride you prefer for each.

I can't! I went to KS in October, so I didn't have time to ride the SR or the Mondonico more than a few times. The Peloton is a new aquisition for my next overhaul class in 2 weeks, and the CCM is a new frame purchase. The SR was the bike I chose to do my first overhaul on. The criteria was that it be nice enough to spend some money on, but not so nice it scared me.

1. Atlantis
2. Scott
3. Klein
4. Bridgestone 200

5,6,7,8 Mondonico, Peloton, SR, CCM (not tested yet)

9 Raleigh...perfect women's bike for dog, going 5 mph. Big poop basket on handlebars and I don't have to worry about the dogs pulling it apart, like they did with my Bridgestone.

10, 11 Varsity, NB-26... to sell. I actually wish the NB-26 were my size. But not so much now that I have the Scott

Wow! The Scott went to #2 like a bullet!

I will take your last post as an admission that you are buying bikes faster than you can ride them.

More relevant:

Up North: Atlantis, Klein

Cities: Peloton or Mondonico, Scott

Kansas: Atlantis, Raleigh, Bridgestone 200 (I ride with friends and dogs down there)

1. Sun EZ-Rider AX recumbent
1A. Trek 7600
3. Bridgestone CB-1
4. Trek 820

Panasonic Sport LX doesn't even have pedals on it yet. Just got it 2 days ago, had hoped to take a ride on Sunday, but then it got colder than expected and it snowed.

You don't like the Trek 820? How come?

So your primary ride is a recumbent? I guess I've heard so much flat bar talk that I forgot you had one! Now I have to change my mental image.

And since I just got the CCM and the Peloton within the past 2 weeks, they shouldn't count, either, then.

The 820 is okay. I leave it chained in the rack at the university for lunch time rides. Didn't use it a lot in '07, but enjoyed riding when I got out. Wouldn't want to ride it for any distance though. Still dialing it in.

I switched to the 'bent as my primary bike in late September. Jury is still out if it remains there, but I had a great time riding it through the fall. It goes into '08 in the #1 slot. Incredibly comfortable and it eliminates all of the pain in my hands that come from riding uprights.

Wow, this suddenly turned all gentle and lovey dovey... Has the horned one turned over a new leaf? Or is he feigning a change in latitude, only to start asking the really hard questions again in our next episode?
