cycling movies

I just watched a fairly good movie called "The Flying Scotsman" - a true story
about Graeme Obree-a cyclist in the early 1990's. I found it inspirational.
Can the veteran cyclists recommend to this newcomer some other cycling movies?
For running movies,a former passion of mine, I liked "Chariots of Fire" and "Fontaine"

A must-see classic. Amazingly, it won an Oscar!

Let's see, there's The Bicycle Thief and the lighthearted spinoff, Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

A Sunday in Hell. It's a documentary about Paris-Roubaix, with all the greats of the late 60's - early 70s': Merckx, deVlaeminck, Moser, Duclos-Lasalle, etc. Surprisingly, that year's race was won by a domestique. Excellent film.

I have recently viewed "Off the Rails." A documentary about two OZ 20 year olds riding across Russia via Siberia and Mongolia to Bejing, China They do it recumbents. They'll be 50 someday. Wonderful insights into daily life in Russia and overcoming adverse conditions. You can Google Tim Cope Journeys to see a few clips.

Get the DVD of the '89 Tour de France.

The hero gets shot in a hunting accident, then tries to make a comeback. No big team will hire him, so he takes a job as captain of a no-name, no-chance team.

Very exciting build-up, great scenery shots, and an ending that no script writer could have imagined!
