Aaaaaahhhhhh!!
Finally!!! For the first time since August 10, 2007!!!! (had an injury)
Got out for the first ride of the year today!! It was only 10 miles, but boy, did it feel good!!
It was supposed to be rainy all day on Saturday. I was in the basement making some bottle stoppers for my PMC fundraising. My dog (Barklee) started bugging me to go out to perform his duties, so I took a break and was surprised to find that it was sunny and 60. Took about five minutes to get ready and off I went.
The best part is that there were no apparent problems. I have been worrying about this becoming a recurring problem with the neck. So far, so good.
I plan on working up slowly to the normal 25-30 mile rides I was doing last year two or three nights a week.
It's good to be back!!

Although I wasn't injured (I hope you're OK now), I was off the bike for 3 weeks due to pneumonia. I finally got back on last Saturday and did 19 steep, hilly miles and did the same route last Tuesday and yesterday. It felt great but I am still a little weak. I realize how much power/strength gets lost in a short time. I now know a little of what you probably felt when you were able to ride again - it feels great!

When working back after time off the bike I find that 2 shorter rides per day is easier than 1 longer. Even a 30 minute ride in the early morning gives me more energy for the day.
