Did a ride today. Not much but just out to stretch the legs and get away from the wifes new swimming pool that I have to build. This was her idea not mine but I got a new bike last year- she bought a pool. Then I got a second bike so NO riding in April till the pools finished. But not much I could do today as the paint was drying (That was my excuse) So I managed to escape. Took an easy route and down across the marshes to the Seafront and a chocolate brownie and Capuchino. The wind was getting up so went into the town for an easier route to the top of the ZigZags. I know that there are some hilly parts in Eastbourne but this short sharp rise got to me. Had to get out of the saddle and almost broke into a sweat but for about 200 yards- I just went up. Did the zigzags and went down the hill again where I found that I took the right choice in missing the wind. Only doing about 35mph and a strong crosswind hit me.

Got home and Set the garmin onto the computer. That 200 yards was a 20% bit. Won't go that route again. Thank goodness it was a flat ride.

It was with the compact- 34/27 but I honestly did not expect a slope that steep. Luckily it was not too long but cadence wasn't up to my usual standards either.

The older I get, the better those grannies look.

There is always Fargo Street, near downtown Los Angeles. :)

Yes, and those small chainrings on bikes look good too.

Can't wait to see you on the Ohio ride. We'll go to Wal-Mart to check out the greeters.

I just hope they can keep their hands off us.
