Rans, where they make 'em

Went to Hays Kansas today and saw where the Rans recumbents are made. Nice bunch of folks. It was raining so they apologized for not being able to "try one" outside. I did however try one inside in the hallway where they keep the demonstrator models. One of these weeks I am going to go back and maybe part with some greenbacks {that are not that green anymore}. I am looking for a long wheel base to accompany my Linear and Lightning. Or should I go for another brand that starts with L

Gee, if I lived in Kansas, I would be inclined to give some business to RANS.
I don't live in Kansas and am lusting after a Screamer to replace our KHS and to go with my Tailwind.

Hafta say it's nice to see one US brand that's still made here (at least both of mine were).

I've read that they are now outsourcing a lot of their frames. Don't have verification of this though.

I was just looking at a used VREX that is on CL here in Madison right now. But I don't have much interest in a SWB.

Yea, the gal that gave us a tour pointed out some frames that came from "some other place". The factory does mostly planes. However we did see a tandem [or at least the crate] that was going to England. only ten percent of their production is bikes. OTOH it did seem that they were dedicated to the bike business, small as it is for them. I do plan on going back and giving some serious thought to which of the bikes I want.

I'm surprised that somebody hasn't pointed out to the OP before he gets crossways with RANS owners that it's RANS, not Rans.

Not that I would ever bring it up...
