Lurker is official today

I have enjoyed reading about all you old couts and your bikes for a while now.

Today I'm one of the couts!
I can officially chime in now but I'm really more of a reader.(lurker);)

That's "coots" kid..........................:D

Once you've gotten to 50 you'll realize what a waste the first half of you life was..................

maddmaxx 05-06-08 05:21 AM

Happy Birthday and welcome.

jwh 05-06-08 05:17 PM

Thanks for all the welcomes.
I just got back from my after work ride. It's a beautiful day in north east Ohio!
I was riding my 50th birthday present from my wife, a new Trek F/S EX8 mountain bike.

Now if I could only find a mountain.

Welcome to the old coots forum. Actually the nicest, friendliest forum on the Board. Lots of great people here - really a wonderful group. Happy Birthday and enjoy your day.

:bday: Welcome.

maddmaxx 05-06-08 06:02 PM

Another mountain biker to help hold the walls against the horde of roadies here. And, its a very nice one too. Your wife clearly has good taste.

Have you thought about using clipless pedals yet....................................:)

cyclinfool 05-06-08 06:08 PM

Welcome & Happy Birthday, the tradition here is to ride your age on your birthday. Don't let us down.

jwh 05-06-08 06:22 PM

I like water and have a white head (when the "just for men" wears off)

jwh 05-06-08 06:28 PM

I've used clipless on my road bikes but use "power straps" and platforms on my mountain bikes.
I like to be able to put my foot down quickly if and when I have to.

jwh 05-06-08 06:33 PM

I guess I must be 9 today if I rode my age!
I don't think it would be a good idea to head back out now.(three glasses of wine and it's getting dark)

Louis 05-06-08 06:38 PM

Another NE Ohioan, great. Welcome and :bday:.
There's a lot of Cleveland area stuff being posted on the "I Remember When..." thread, in case you haven't noticed.

Floyd 05-06-08 07:25 PM

Welcome... may your days be happy and your nights be full of sleep...so your days can be happy.

doctor j 05-06-08 07:50 PM
