Wondering if this son also mourns when every paint scratch is incurred? Will he bury the frame upon its' "demise"? Just too many questions.

was 75 last month. hard to find a decent light bike for an easy price these days. so I had to improvise. this Peugeot mixte weighs in at just under 32#, steel basket, racks, wheels, cranks, pedals and cable lock. Old Simplex cracked so vintage Suntour derailers. Cables, bars and stem new alloy. Maybe $300 in it with the gravel tires. It gets me there... and back. Ol' yaller dawg...

'til a few days ago, didn't know if I had gotten Covid over the last few years and had no symptoms or escaped infection. However, came down with it Friday night and instead of a planned bike ride, was picking up Paxlovid from CVC at 10A the next morning. Strange path to wellness from there on but weathered it out at home in lockdown and today is the last of the 5-day Paxlovid regimen so apparently, can consider myself over the infection as of tomorrow morning (knock on wood). It's coming 'round again and more infectious than ever but you can handle it! Ride on, y'all.

Wildfire smoke has kept me mostly inside last 2 days.
Bad. Classic bicycle on CraigsList I've never ridden.
Told myself, I need to brush up on my French.
Maybe pics to follow.
The smoke hasn't been terrible and leaving tonight.

This 1971 PX10 has better gearing for hills than originally equipped. Maybe too bad it is not all original. Butt,….Immediately a good rider in my hills. 38 small ring and 32 cog out back.
One centimeter too tall, but nice French fit. As purchased but saddle raised and stem lowered. Probably need to rotate bars based on first around th block test.

Stay home too much for even a day - browse CraigsList Seattle for bikes = spend money.

Changed the rear today but kept the tube cuz... been incredibly reliable. Tire was showing the wear but, happy to recommend Vittoria Rubino tires!

I had a Trek 1220 since 1997 and finally got a new bike this year at the age of 75. I bought a Trek Domane AL 5. Smoother and faster is how I would describe it. I'm looking forward to being a member of this forum.

Do you mean one added after purchase? If so then no it doesn't. But I was looking at them, feeling that the handlebars might need to be a little higher for better comfort during rides. Still haven't made a decision on that yet.

Well tomorrow is the big day! My first metric century, Sacramento Century, since I broke my hip riding near Mt. Lassen in Northern California. That means the first real training in over 5 years. And wouldn't you know! The ride is tomorrow, Sept. 30, and the first rain is forecasted. Not today! Not Sunday Oct. 1, not the next 10 days, just tomorrow morning. Then to top it off... my riding partner bailed yesterday.

Good luck! Keep your body temperature controlled w/ some neoprene. Expect the wet but a soaked kit & temperature sapping air movement can cause energy drain to maintain your core temperature.

No- talking about the steerer tube... attached to the fork... that the headset is attached to. Was interested in getting that bike back in 2018 but didn't cuz Trek had switched to a carbon steerer tube (thought that'd present issues getting some additional rise). Otherwise, I like the geometry and being able to have larger road tires (I'm stuck with 25s on the rear).
