I seriously would like a 70+ jersey. I wonder how much it would cost to get the 50+ changed to a 70+ on the current jersey and what the minimum order would be.
I am now feeling a disconnect between me and my riding interests, skills, level, etc. and the 50+ folks now joining in.

The one I was wearing last month was $45 on my back.

Good for you, Joe. I am 65, feel like 85, but cycle hard so people think I am 55.

I've had several positive comments about the jersey, mostly from younger riders.
Some didn't realize I was "that old" until they saw the jersey.

Shouldn't that be " You just got passed by a 70 year old". Today i stopped for water at a rest point and there were to older riders. I asked how old they were, on was 83 and the other 81, both on classic road bikes and full road kits. I don't find to many riders in their 80s on road bikes. I hope to be one but i just have to keep on riding, the good Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

To me, at age 67, anybody who is still cranking away and putting miles on and who is over 70 is a real inspiration. Thanks for sharing! ;-)

Today, while finishing up my 67 mile ride, a young twenty something pulls up next to me and gives me his card. He wants to go riding with me. He said he thinks he can keep up with me and would like to try. This kinda blew me away. I am going to give him a call and see how far he has been riding. His girl friend was in the car, on a scale of 1 to 10 she was a 12. Hope she rides as well.

Decided to use my bike to deliver a sample to my customer. About 26 miles into my ride i am joined by a guy who is about 38. We stop at red light just at the foot of a long overpass with a steady climb followed by another one that spans a bay(Pacific Coast Hwy). He says he wants to attack it as there are no hills around this area(Seal Beach to Sunset Beach to Bolsa Chica Beach to Huntington Beach). I say OK. There is another rider early 40's i would guess. The light turns green and off i go. I sprint up hill starting in 42/17 shift up to 42/15 then 52/15 and hit it harder to 52/14, i look down and am at 27.5 mph still going uphill. Reach the top and put it into 52/13 and start stroking. Attached the second overpass and over the top at 21mph. I look around finally and expect to see at least one of them but no, no one was there. I looked farther back and they were way way back. I think i was just having a good day as i rode 67mile on Tuesday and felt very good. I did 56 today(9-2-10). I think i am getting better.

Raises an interesting question.
Is the ratio of height in inches vs years of age of any significance?
Well, perhaps it is not so interesting after all!

Damn Rat, I hate you.
I'm 68, 5"9" and 238. I'm a diabetic and I just can't get the weight off.
I have taken off 5 inches in the waist in five years.
You are doing great, keep up the good work!

I YoYo between 188 and 192 and can't seem to get to 180. I came down from 213 last year. I know i have more muscle and it is heavier so it will come off very slow. Good job Burr on your lifting, i like your motto.
DnvrFox, i used to try to use that reasoning in Golf to see how i was doing, think Tiger at 5 foot 8 inches.
Tomorrow i am going to attempt a 76 mile trip with 3375 feet of elevation gain. I have not tried any mountains yet but will try one tomorrow.
