Can I Play?
Hi there,
I'm DG's girlfriend and I finally joined the ranks as an official bike owner (as most of you already know by DG's recent postings).
I know I don't quite make the 50+ mark... but can I play with y'all?? It's such a fun group, I would love to be a part of it. So can I??? Huh? Huh?
If not... I understand... Rules are rules. I just sit here in the dark with my new carbon bike... that's ok...

Sure, DD, but you have already missed out on the best advice we could have given you (it's not about the bike).

Welcome...and congrats on your new bike. My wife and I lived and cycled in SD for 16 years. It is a fantastic area to live and ride.

No need to sit in the dark with your carbon frame- They sell bikes lights too. Ideal for those extra training rides when DG is asleep.
If DG has not said already- You are welcome to play with us- But only if you promise to be gentle with us. No hammering up the hills and you take your turn at the front of the breakaway. No sitting at the back taking a rest.

Although it will be twenty years before you qualify, you can stay. Welcome.
Edit: Didn't like the way that first one read.

You can play as long as you continue to cause DG to "crack" and fall off the pace.
Note: Crack is a bicycle racing term that mean he just cannot keep up.
Note 2: forgot to add, Classic and Vintage refers to old bikes, not old riders

You can post here but to be really be accepted you must meet the following criterea:
1) Exclusively ride on hand built wheels
2) Wear bib shorts
3) Ride a brooks saddle
4) Take pictures on every ride
5) Ride your age on your birthday
6) Celebrate Pie ride day (thats coming up in a few months)
7) Start thinking about N+1
8) Wear Sidis
9) An insatiable desire to write about colonoscopies
10) Faffing - yea - lots of faffing
But what ever you do - don't ride a white bike, we have enough of those.

You must first read every post that DG has ever posted to 50+.

Hey DD, congratulations on the new bike, I really think you will enjoy it here as well as on the bike. If Gary hasn't told you a lot of things about riding, I'm sure you will get your questions answered here, or one of the other sub forums. Anyway enjoy and have fun.

Any friend of DG is . . . . . . . . . . . oops! I don't think I want to go there.
DG's post per mile ratio is among the highest on the forum. I just thought you ought to know that - it is one of the more important 50+ bicycling statistics.
Anyway,

Welcome! You've come to the funnest group at BF.
Have you tried on a pair of Sidis yet? Someone advised me to not go near the Sidis but I did not listen and now they are in my closet.

Welcome, DD! I feel like a cousin brought a new steady girlfriend over for Thanksgiving or something. We've been following your relationship and bike progress through DG's eyes. I look forward to reading "the rest of the story."

As perhaps our only hope of keeping DG under some semblance of control, you are welcome to our humble abode.
Nice bike, by the way. Saw it in another thread. Nice choice of color. Not white!
