It's better to burn out, rust never sleeps.

Hey, hey. My, my.

I saw the Atlanta concert on that tour. One of the best ever.

We're too old to die young (whoda thunk it?).

Memory is the second thing to go. I forget what the first thing is.

The older I get, the better I was.

Next year's goal is, whatever I did this year.

Maybe not witty but I like this quote:

Men do not quit playing because they grow old; they grow old because they quit playing. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes

Or the unofficial campaign slogan of CREEP (Committee To Reelect the President):
"Don't change Dicks in the middle of a screw. Vote for Nixon in'72".

dorosz 08-17-08 06:23 PM

Still my favorite quote all these years later... "When you've got them by the b*lls their hearts and minds will follow"... :innocent: probably doesn't fit the age thing but my mind tends to wander these days and thats what sprung up in place of it this time :50:

WalterMitty 08-18-08 03:46 PM

"...hope I die before I get old..."

/talking 'bout my g-g-g-g-generation.

Black vinyl roof on blue body - SS 396 Chevelle here. Loved that car, but sold it in the Carter gas crisis days for next to nothing.

The song "Comfortably Numb" when matched to key events in my life is my theme song...

When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I can not put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
I have become
Comfortably numb

Big Pink Flyod Fan here, but does comfortably numb refer to a hand or saddle condition on the bike?
But, I digress

*** WARNING *** Implied off-color joke

On a recent trip I came across this T-shirt, which proclaimed:

You say Tomato

I say F*** Y**

Except that it was all spelled out on the shirt. I know some grouchy 50+'ers for whom this would fit their personality.

Here's one for cycling and old age:
"From here on up, it is all down hill."

jiminos 10-12-08 08:56 PM

that toby keith quote isn't toby's.... i remember hearing somebody say that back in the 70's and i used it many times right up until i heard toby sing it... tossed it out like yesterday's fish after that....

for a 50+ slogan.... how about.... 'cuz i said so, dammit!

or... two rules for success.... 1) don't tell 'em everything you know.

be well,

Advise I gave my middle daughter at her baby shower: As you hold your little bundle of joy, remember that some day he'll be picking out your nursing home.

Seen on the back of a T-shirt worn by a 50ish year old lass who was seated on the back of a Harley:

"I fought the bong, and the bong won."
